The hotel itself is huge, very well kept and stylized. The staff were nice and spoke English well so it was easy as a foreigner. The room itself was large and extremely clean as the rest of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bath was large and very nice, they provide you with bath salts for a nice soak. There were a few different tea sets you could try, one of them being a matcha set. It was quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. I got a massage, the masseuse was very nice and professional, I felt relaxed. The food at the restaurants was very good as well, there were a few options for different cuisines and budgets. Overall a great experience and value for money. I came to relax and managed to do just that!

Various tasty options - available coffee all day - check-in was super easy and smooth - the room was spacious, comfortable and clean - washing machines available for free PLUSSSS I bought some things online before coming and sent them to the hotel. They stored everything for my arrival :) I also left behind something in the room when I checked out. I sent them a message and they stored it and organised the shipping to my country. Kyoto is an amazing city full of history and beauty. Unfortunately it’s also suffering from over tourism quite badly. If you choose to go there, do so knowing that crowds will be everywhere that’s popular. So go early! The place I always go to is Katsura Rikyu but you need to get a reservation ahead if possible. It’s amazing.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

Numerous, varied cultural sites. The eating around Kyoto ranged from egg sandwiches at 7/11 to Michelin recommended spots in the city. Getting around was easy. We walked and used the subway or bus for longer rides. Would recommend walking tours of the old city.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

You are spoiled for choice in Kyoto: many shrines and temples, some of them World Heritage Sites, beautiful gardens, and a wide selection of restaurants. The network of bus and subway routes makes getting around the city fairly easy, although it takes a bit of planning. And as with everywhere else I visited in Japan, people are unfailingly helpful.
