Our room was beautifully designed, with meticulous attention to detail. The blend of comfort and style was perfect, and we especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the beautiful bathroom. It was clear that everything was thoughtfully curated to enhance the guest experience. The location is ideal—a short walk from the train station and from Kanazawa’s main attractions like Kenrokuen Garden and the Omicho Market, yet wonderfully peaceful. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient. One highlight of our stay was the staff!. Every detail reflected the hotel’s dedication to quality and authenticity. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return to Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanazawa—this hotel truly elevates the experience of this beautiful city!

We had a suite with the private onsen which was fantastic. So peaceful, relaxing and romantic. It was expensive at nearly 70,000 yen (approx $700 AUD) per night and we stayed two nights, but the experience was totally worth it. If you can, definitely get this room. The little town of Yamanakaonsen is only about a 15 minute walk and has a convenience store and other gift shops. We found a lovely spot down by the river. The staff were all excellent, as I have found in all Japanese hotels, but I want to make a special mention about a young Indonesian lady (Sushi) who waited on our table. She explained the extensive menu in Japanese to my Japanese wife and again in English to me. Her bubbly personality was a delight. The food was outstanding, top quality and plentiful. Overall one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The onsen in your room overlooking the river and forest was just perfect.

It was a long drive up the Noto Peninsula and we had to drive along a narrow road through a short stretch of forest before we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful facade of the hotel. The entire stay was a pampering experience. The view from the room was amazing. Both dinner and breakfast were exquisitely prepared and served in private rooms. We had a 50 min private bath which was extremely soothing. There were small zen gardens, libraries in a corner, and cupboards full of yukatas of different colors and designs. These were very pleasant to the eyes. I also liked how courteous and attentive the hotel staff were.

Amazing ryokan located in the picturesque Yamanaka village. The staff was very professional and caring. The room was spacious, with coffee and tea sets ready to use. We enjoyed the onsen, the yukatas, the afternoon pancakes, the evening drinks, the geiko performance and everything else very much. The food was delicious, both in Kissho and in their Sister hotel (free bar and unlimited tempura there). Honestly for everything we got the price was very reasonable. We even got a special celebration with cake, drinks and gift for my husband's birthday.

A lovely city with a nice variety of attractions and friendly, helpful people. The highlights for us were near our hotel. The Kenrokuen Gardens and the Castle. We took advantage of their free, English speaking guides. Thank you Kanazawa. We loved the matcha tea experience at the gardens. It was easy to walk between these two beautiful sites and then over to the lovely, serene Oyama Shrine where we took so many photos. Lots of excellent restaurants, especially seafood.. If I were to return, I would probably hire or join a tour for the samurai and geisha areas.

Nanta-dera is only a 15 minute drive away which was beautiful with the autumn leaves. The walk along the river in Yamanaka is stunning all year round. Yamanake is famous for wood turning so there is plenty of crafts to see. Nearby and also huge ancient cedar trees and it is an area of plentiful hot springs.

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised.

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised. The host was helpful and a delight. She made sure we had a lovely 2 nights there. Rooms were well presented and large with amenities that were first rate. The glass manufacture workshop and the glass museum were well woth the trip. The glass gallery is world class and the architecture special and suited to its location. The aquarium was disappointing. Show was good but the maintenance of the facility needs work.

2-3 days stay is very good to experience the culture and arts. It is our second time and third time for 2 out of 5 people in our group. It is not pricy now but not sure if it becomes more touristic like Kyoto. We love Kanazawa and worth to visit again.

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it. I will definitely return and to the same onsen.

Kanazawa was a really nice experience. It has a lot of different things to do and most of them are walking distance (if staying in a centric area). Breakfast was tough to obtain, for some reason we had a hard time finding local places open early in the morning. But overall, it is a great place to visit. It has the sea and mountains.
