I stayed 3 hotels in similar price for this holiday in the Dolomites. Of all of them, Cyprianerhof was the only one where everything was perfect. As soon as you arrive, you are 100% in the Alps. The overwhelming view, staff in traditional clothing, fantastic local food, cozy interior... This is much more precious and valuable than the common modern chic style. With all of this, you can feel the 'genuine' experience that you can't have anywhere else. Above all, we were so lucky to be able to attend amazing concert. It was a surprisingly high-quality performance. Once again, thanks to both musicians for giving us an unforgettable moment. If you are considering other similar places, this is the right answer. We will definitely be back in the winter!

The location is beautiful - gateway to the Dolomites. I enjoyed the spa facilities, particularly the sky pool, which has wonderful views. The welcome on my arrival was superb, and service was equally lovely throughout. Fantastic room with a super view and a comfy bed. Great dinner and breakfast - delicious food and lots of choice.

The host was very friendly and welcoming, and you could tell the hotel was run with care, love and attention to detail. The hotel is in a lovely, peaceful setting at the top of the village, with gorgeous views to the surrounding mountains. The wellness area is highlight, with two saunas, a fabulous relaxation room and a large outside decked area, which leads up into the surrounding forest. Towels are provided and you can get drinks to aid your relaxation! Our room was clean, comfortable & spacious with 2 balconies and a large, cosy seating area. We were upgraded to a suite, which was kind. The restaurant serves a wonderful, varied buffet breakfast and a deliciois 5 course dinner, using local produce. The food offering felt healthier than some of the other places we stayed in Italy too!

We loved everyone and everything about this hotel. Rooms were spotless, beds very comfortable, quiet surroundings 24/7. Pool was glorious with a view of the mountains. Rooftop hot tub was lovely and our child also loved climbing wall. Breakfasts and dinners were also very good.

Nova Ponente is a few minutes drive from the village where...

Nova Ponente is a few minutes drive from the village where the apartment is at, but it offers a lot more eating and shopping options; it also happens to be quite active because it is on the road to many ski locations. It is good to have it be nearby but I preferred the restive peaceful village where the apartment is at.

While most people head for Val Gardena, this portion of the Dolomities has its own gem: a hike at 2500 meter across the peaks of the Rosengarten Spitze, the iconic Caressa Lake, as well as a hike from the twin peaks of Corno Bianco /Nero to the monastery of Madonna di Pietralba (Maria Weissenstein), to name a few gems.

I liked and disliked the same thing about the resort-the fact that it was pretty empty which meant no queues for the chair lifts. However, the fact that it was so empty meant no apres ski at all, which in the evening felt a bit liveless and sad.

The setting there is just perfect.

The setting there is just perfect. You’re in a valley and have access to several different hiking paths or mountain biking paths. The towns are your typical south to roll little towns. They was just beautiful, surrounded by the dolomites.

In winter this is the best location to start the skiing /...

In winter this is the best location to start the skiing / snowboarding Latemar experience. The number of lifts, slopes provides for a perfect skiing experience and you can ski all the way to Predazzo and back in a day without having to repeat any of the lifts or slopes unless you like any of them so much that you want to. I keep coming back to Obereggen every winter, it is simply wonderful.

If the big touristic centres are not for you, but you still...

If the big touristic centres are not for you, but you still striving for a good quality of winter sports - Nova Levante/Carezza is an ideal place for you. Plus of location - not to far from Bolzano, which might be handy (e.g. there they have a hospital). Another nice locations for downhill skiing nearby - Obereggen. Or if you like it "intensive and grand" - Sellaronda.

Small ski resort with but with big ski network. Not so many people but still you find fun places for apres-ski and one disco (easy atmosphere). NO waiting at the cablecar or chairlifts in high season. Good ski.

Obereggen is a great place to visit in the summer, if you like to hike in a pristine and spectacular mountain landscape. However, it is relatively far from the main urbanized area and as a consequence does not appear to offer much in terms of in site social and cultural activities. It is mostly populated by hotels and second houses and it harbors essentially no village or local population, beyond those employed by the tourism industry or sparse local agriculture. The hotels generally offer half pension packages even though it is possible to have excellent meals in local restaurants, themselves mostly part of hotels.
