Great little family-run boutique hotel beside the Ega River in the small town of Cardano. Plenty of free parking directly outside with additional parking 50m down the road. Two historic150 yr old buildings sympathtically modernized. Really comfortable king size bed with 2 separate duvets, huge modern bathroom, 2 lovely bathrobes, spacious private, outdoor terrace with several seating areas. Good wifi, good air conditioning, good TV. Great restaurant for dinner and super advice from Moritz, the sommelier and son of the owner. Great breakfast, lots of choices. Outdoor pool, lovely outdoor seating area, outdoor covered dining area. Fantastic hotel!

Super friendly staff. Nice facilities (for a 3 star hotel they were in the upper end), nice food and breakfast. Enjoyed the open yakuzi , unfortunately I arrived late but there is also a nice small pool and relax area in the garden if you want to. The hotel also provides with a day pass for public transportation and bike rental included, that can be handy!

Really good wellness, nice saunas, they make aufguss as well, you get salt-kiwi scrub for the steam sauna, you get also refreshment drink and snack (apples with lemon) The breakfast buffett is just perfect, everything is still available, they have ham that is good quality And for your sweeth tooth you get full counter just with desserts of all kind.

Bolzano is a perfect spot for exploring the lower reaches of the Dolomites with very good train connections to Verona, Venice, Innsbruck and beyond. The old town is gorgeous to walk around and off course the must see attraction of The Bolzano Iceman. Otzi, 5300 year natural Mummy should be number 1 on the 'cannot be missed list'

Now I am receiving rude responses from the Hotel Rotwand saying: "we do not have "italian" personal in the hotel, from eveyone the mother language is german dialect but italian citizien, so your coment look racists or even without sense. the cleaning women is not mexican, she is peruvian like i told you. if the beef you had at dinner wasn´t right, we could change it without problem" To which I must respond that I spoke Spanish with the lovely maid. Sorry I didn't know she is Peruvian, but that's no reason call me racist. I thought Fabian was an Italian name. Again sorry but that doesn't make me racist. Your rudeness continues even now after I've gone. = (

Eppan is a great smaller area outside of Bozen.

Eppan is a great smaller area outside of Bozen. We enjoyed being close to both the city and nature. There was a local market on Tuesday, and the bakeries and restaurants in town were all delicious and staffed with friendly employees. A cool little spot for a trip!

We just visited small central, old town part of Caldaro and it was nice for one/two evenings. We mostly travelled outside the Caldaro just having hotel in that town. Surrounding vineyards are lovely to visit and enjoy vine tasting. Great roads for motorbike or bike trips.

Lovely traditional small Italian town in South Tyrol.

Lovely traditional small Italian town in South Tyrol. The free use of local buses and trains with the Sud Tirol card made it very easy to get to places. Easy to get into either Bolzano or Merano. And great local wine trail walk with the history of the local wine region.

Thanks to the wonderful weather during our stay in Termeno, we were able to fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The sunny days made it perfect for exploring the vineyards, relaxing outdoors, and taking in the stunning views — it truly made our visit even more enjoyable.

Would like to go back prepared to do the walks and hikes in the area. The old city and market were charming. Loved the Archeology museum and learning about Otzi the Iceman. Cable car and train a great introduction to the possibilities available for future visits.

Great place to stay while visiting the beautiful Alto-Adige region. The BZ bus pass is an easy way to get to Bolzano City Center without driving a car. Parking in town is challenging and/or expensive.

Nice ancient town in middle of Alto Adige wine region. Home of Gewurztraminer. In one side of town vineyards an apple orchards, in other side woods and mountains. Ideal for active holidays but also for wine and food lovers.
