Luxury lodges with stunning view of the coast. Great location to explore Cinque Terre area by train (with free shuttle bus to the nearby train station - 5-10mins away). Helpful and friendly staff. We loved absolutely everything! The rooms are spacious and impeccable in terms of cleanliness. The place is run by two people who have all the professionalism you can hope for and on top of that really care about Theo customers and accommodate every wish. - We could pick up a coffee prior to breakfast and have glasses from the bar for our “own” wine. The food in the restaurant is great and exceeds what you can expect from a hotel restaurant. Prices are more than reasonable They also have a vast selection of wine and again you can take the house wine, which is absolutely fine or chose from the local or international selection. The place is quiet and has a lovely pool and beautiful garden and terraces with lemon and clementine trees as well as many local plants. It feels like you are at the garden of Eden. Perfect for Lovers or old still-in-love couples like us. What you cannot do: walk into town. You need a car, as there are no boardwalks nor lights at night and it is a drive of around 10 minutes to go to town. However, you can always get a taxi for ca 25 Euros per trip.

FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre

Cliff-Hugging Beauty

One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.

Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.

The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.

Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.

The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

The breakfast was amaizing, the staff even did our laundry for free and gave us ice cream from the bar/shop. Staff was really nice and extra accomodating. Hard to get to from the train station on foot if you miss the bus. Runs rarely, so we’d sometimes have to walk back up the mountain for an hour to get to the hotel but the scenery was beautiful so we didnt mind.

La Spezia is an excellent little town to use as a home base when planning to travel to Cinque Terre, Portofino, and other close-by destinations. The train station is within walking distance and you will find one of the wonderful “Markets” taking place every Sunday where we found some great bargains on shoes, coats, other clothing, delicious homemade pastries cooked right there, and many knick knacks. Every Wednesday, there is also a strictly clothing and shoes Market going on as well. Fresh fruits, vegetables and fish Market also takes place in the same location as the Sunday market.

We loved the whole Cinque Terre region.

We loved the whole Cinque Terre region. Scorce di Mare had a wonderful location, right on the sea in Riomaggiori. Highlights of our Riomaggiore experience was the wonderful private wine tasting coordinated by Scorce di Mare that highlighted the CT wineries, walking from Rio to Manarola on the Via del Amore hiking trail on the way to the Nessun Dorma pesto making class we took(a highlight of our trip), getting gelato in Corniglia and the beautiful Riomaggiore sunsets! We loved our visit to the Cinque Terre region and our stay in Riomaggiore. One note to keep into consideration, there are many stairs that need to be navigated in Rio. So, if that is an issue, you should take that into consideration.

You will have a hard time finding a more perfect location than Casa Lella <3 The view to the sea and the boats and the hills directly outside the two big front windows, the staircase lifting you above streetlevel, the beach directly to your left and Carrefour directly to your right simply could not be any better. Inside you find everything you need and plenty of space.

Picturesque, relatively small and quiet compared to the other cinque Terre towns. Centrally located so I could begin day walks in both directions. Best not to carry heavy luggage up the hill from the train station (around 380 steps) - use the bus… only 1,50 Euros but expect to wait 15-30 mins at peak time. The walks to Vernazza and on to Monterosso, and also the walk to Manarola are magnificent, just be prepared for lots of steps.
