We actually loved everything about this hotel. It is our first time on Ischia so we did not know much about the island and its neighborhoods. But now we know a bit more, and realize how lucky we were choosing Casa Guiseppina. 1. Ischia is a wonderful island. 2. The Sant Angelo area is really beautiful and cars are banned in the centre of the village. 3. The village of Succhivo, 1 km away is the perfect hub in the area. You have a bus stop, a snack bar and a nice restaurant "Osteria della Mamma". 4. Casa Guiseppina is the obvious place to choose for a stay. There are three sections of the hotel: the main building with the restaurant, the nearby annex with the pool, and a bit away they have some larger apartments. 5. The pool. We stayed in the pool section of the hotel. The building is affluently embedded in flowers, trees, pergolas and the vulcano-heated pool is pleasantly 35 degrees warm. 6. Rooms are rustic, cleaning is flawless. 7. The hosts are great and have an informal friendliness making you feel very welcome. 8. Breakfast is fresh with fruits, eggs by choise, and good coffee served at the table. 9. You can on a daily whim choose if you want dinner or not. Just tell before noon. 10. Dinner is a well tasting four course meal with a great mix of dishes focusing on vegetables, pasta, meat/fish + dessert. Of the + 50 hotels I reviewed in Booking, this is the kind of 3 star hotels you never would trade even if you are offered a 5 star alternative.

We had the most wonderful stay at Hotel Angelino. Couldn't recommend it more! The location of the hotel is on the beach, Maronti Beach, very nice. There is a very nice restaurant at the back of the hotel, and you can reach Sant Angelo and other locations very easily. All is very clean, our room was cleaned every day and the staff was so lovely, giving us a lot of tips around. We can not wait to come back!

Hotel located in a beautiful monastery castle. The main highlight is the hotel itself inside the monastery and part of the castle, which is Ischia's main attraction. Museums, patios, beautiful gardens, a mix of garden with vegetable garden, flowers and vegetables. The room is simple but comfortable, with a good bathroom and shower. The best breakfast: sweets, cakes, pie; black rice salad with leaves from the garden, variety of homemade breads, fresh mozzarella, juices, fruits, nuts, eggs, cold cuts, gluten-free, etc. The hotel restaurant is excellent, food worthy of the best quality restaurant. There are guests who complain about stairs and the room not being large. The hotel is inside a historic building, a monastery and it is impossible not to have stairs. There is already an elevator that takes you from the entrance to the highest part where the hotel is located. But some stairs are unavoidable. The thick walls limit WiFi, which works well in the room, and near the reception and restaurant. Ultimately, a special accommodation and an experience.

Hotel Casa Sofia was an incredible stay! Christian (hotel owner) was amazing - he was so flexible with a late checkout and helped us reserve a cab for our ferry home. The room was clean and had a beautiful ocean view and a well-working AC. Breakfast was served on a lovely patio with ocean views. The location was within walking distance of two beaches and the nearest thermal baths. Book now!

Picturesque Island of Volcanic Rock, Thermal Spas and Pristine Beaches

Located 30 km from Naples and formed by a complex volcano, the pristine and breathtaking Ischia Island is Mother Nature’s hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is surrounded by an unspoiled coastline, thermal spas, several hiking routes and spectacular scenery.

Built in 474 BC, Aragonese Castle which is perched on natural volcanic rock, is the most impressive historical monument on Ischia Island, and is a modern day reminder of the islands past. Another wonder of island is the Gardens of La Mortella. Filled with tropical and Mediterranean plants, these picture-perfect gardens offer some of the best views over the region and Forio Harbour.

Other attractions on Ischia Island are beaches such as Maronti Beach and Citara Beach. There is also the Angelo Rizzoli Museum, which is a museum of the famous Italian publisher and film producer Angelo Rizzoli, along with the mushroom rock (known to locals as the Fungo) located just off the port of Lacco Ameno. Several local restaurants and bars are scattered around the island serving traditional and local delights.

One of the most interesting and unique areas on Ischia Island is the bay of Citara, and the famous Poseidon thermal Gardens. It features several pools, spas, a traditional Roman Sauna, a private beach and various restaurants. Visitors also have great transportation links by bus around the island.

Everything! This was our favorite place to stay in all of Italy! The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the room we had was dark and quiet and I had the best sleeps there, the pool area is gorgeous with plants and flowers and the warm pool is a perfect temperature, the roof top view is amazing, the breakfast delicious with friendly hosts, and the hotel is located in a perfect location between the castle with delicious restaurants and the town with shops and more good restaurants.

There are not enough stars to rate this place. Everything about it is extraordinary - building, rooms, design, food, view, atmosphere. The kindness and warmth of everyone who works at Mezzatorre turn this place into a little paradise. This is something really special. All I can say is: thank you and see you soon!

The breakfast was very nice. The room was clean with really good climate control and beautiful garden view. Well organised free shuttles every half an hour to San Francesco beach which is absolutely fantastic. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. I would like to come back to this hotel again.

Best place ever. Wonderful staff and amazing lobby. I paid 45 Euros for a single with my dog, and it was just fabulous. Books all over tha house, real books that you can read. Beach is 5 minutes. Absolutely recommended!

A beautiful island with a range of personal experiences that made our vist unique. Everyone we met was so friendly and we enjoyed all of our time on the island. We did find the roads very narrow and different to drive with a hire car. Th thermal pools at Poseidon were outstanding. We visited in mid-October and found that the island was in the process of shutting down for the off season. Despite this, we are now missing the fabulous family run restaurants and quiet hotel. Would love to go back and visit again.

One of the best places I've been. Everything was wonderful from beaches to restaurants to views. We took advantage of the local bus service to get to S. Angelo in 2 directions. The rides were unbelievable. Will hire a scooter next time.

Lovely island, it felt like a hidden gem.

Lovely island, it felt like a hidden gem. Not many tourists there this time of year (october). We loved Poseidon. The town Sant'Angelo was beautiful! The Marina/beach and restaurants nearby was very quaint and clean.
