Everything was perfect! The location is 10/10 since it's basically in the city centre. Great breakfast with many options. Stuff is really friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed. Great deal, easy parking, comfortable room. I particularly liked the chromotherapy shower in my room. Staying at Hotel Castrum during our visit to Grado was an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The room were extremely comfortable and well air-conditioned, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The hotel itself is new and modern, with a very convenient elevator that added to the ease of our stay. Its location in the heart of the old town was ideal—everything we wanted to see was just a short walk away. At the same time, the hotel is tucked slightly off the main streets, so we were spared the noise and bustle, which made for peaceful evenings. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. A special thank you to the lovely Polish lady who showed us where to find a fantastic free beach and recommended a restaurant with the best Neapolitan pizza in town. Another staff member went out of her way to lend us her personal bottle opener when we needed one. These small but meaningful gestures made us feel so welcome and well cared for. We were also impressed with how the owners accommodated our need for secure parking, going out of their way to arrange it for us. The breakfasts were fantastic—everything was fresh and delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the outdoor tables, savoring our meal under the open sky, surrounded by the charm of the Italian old town. As for Grado itself, the town is simply extraordinary—full of grace, elegance, character, and authentic charm. It’s a place that leaves a long lasting impression, and I truly hope to return one day. When I do, I will undoubtedly choose to stay at Hotel Castrum again. To the owners and staff, thank you so much for everything. I wish you all the best and hope the hotel continues to thrive and grow beautifully!

The mobile house was perfect, well-equipped, many trees around, so had shadows as well. My dog could enjoy on terrace without leash. The bed was comfortable as well, that was very important for me. I could also go on the beach with my dog. You need an unbrella with you, because there are no trees there.

Nice stroll along the bike road and into the city, over the bridges, out the city to the Grado tree. A classic Italian 'old town' with lots of character.

A classic Italian 'old town' with lots of character. Local Italians were friendly and engaging but reported that they are already feeling like "strangers in their own town" because of a considerable influx of foreign migrant workers who do not seem at pains to integrate; giving the town a somewhat 'alien' feeling when walking around. Difficult to find a food outlet for example, that still served both typical Italian food and alcohol.

I was researching somewhere quiet to stay for one night before an early morning flight home from Trieste airport back to the uk and i found Statranzano -Donatella gave us directions to walk to the property and back to the airport - a code to get throught the gate also meant we were able to leave the property at 3.30am for our 20 minute walk to the airport. Likewise if we had chosen to arrive later for our stay we had the option to use the code. The property was perfect in a peaceful area and the room and facilities were excellent.

Gorizia ia a wonderful city to wander through on foot. The older part of downtown is well kept. The downtown area offers plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. I think it is good for about two or three leisurely days. There are a few sites to visit and Slovenia is close by. We ate at Peperino(excellent food and an attentive staff) and La Chincaglieria(sp?)(food and wine were really good, the atmosphere was lively, the staff was friendly). Overall, I would visit again.

We chose this hotel because we did not want to drive for more than five hours in one day. I thought that this may be a good stop for a one night stay. But we were WRONG - and if we had known it would have been so good we would have stayed for at least three. The room was perfect as was the breakfast - especially the room. We also had an evening meal in the bar which again was very good. I do believe we will put this hotel on our 'to do again' list - But for longer. Thank You
