We loved this place. It’s extremely old and looks as if once it was part of the wall that walled the tiny hill town of Castelnuovo Parano. Only a few rooms but we had the one with the arched terrace. It was really quiet so after a long drive it felt very calm and peaceful. We had breakfast on the terrace and you can have lunch and dinner at the restaurant. The staff are great as well. Nothing is a problem. Montecasino is nearby and the sea is only half an hour away. We went to Gaeta which was very interesting.

the building is a little dated but it’s being renovated. however the works are on the other side of a large building so it’s not a disturbance. Some rooms like ours even have a view of a little town on a hill from a spacious balcony. It’s a great quality-price solution, on the highway between Rome and Pompei which we also visited. Rome is 1h away north, Pompeii 1h50 south. We didn’t take breakfast but we did buy coffee in the restaurant in the morning, real Italian cappuccino which was great and they didn’t want to charge for it. There is fridge in the room. Plenty of parking but if you are heading to Rome make sure you reserve a parking place ahead in one of many garages (around 25€ whole day is an average). You can do that through various parking apps (try Parclick for example). Very satisfied.

The location is an old farm villa with some land around it, very well kept, very beautiful and calming. The owners are a very kind couple, extremely well mannered and their breakfast is perfect. The room was nice and fresh, the towels were clean and tidy. I was working on a table in the garden and the Lady brought me water and asked me whether I needed anything else. Both of them very kind and welcoming.

We were only for one night, the staff was super friendly because we had to have a medicine in the fridge and they help us to put it in the fridge, the room was super spacious and comfortable, the truth is that we would have wanted to stay another night, the price is very good and the room comfortable, clean and beautiful, recommend 100%

Cassino is a town of much historical significance and is very welcoming to visitors. The abbey is a must see, as are the war cemeteries. I recommend a guide, mine was Dr Danila Bracaglia who is so knowledgeable.

We stayed in Fiuggi as our daughter was staying in the same area for her college football tournament. We ate at a few nice restaurants - bistro and GoGo. Would recommend visiting here for an evening meal. There is a bar across from the hotel - lots of different beers to try. Lots of bars and shops in close proximity to each other. Accessible by foot. Supermarket well stocked with lots of basic essentials.

WE LOVED THIS TOWN!

WE LOVED THIS TOWN! So Charming--even in off season, we had a great selection of wonderful restaurants, bakeries and bars. The town has a wonderful feel and lots of places to visit. It is also very close to other mediaeval towns that are great day trips. We even got an incredible massage just 15 minutes away in Fiuggi. We want to go back!

Really historic and pretty city, walking Lungoliri feels a bit like a miniature version of Paris at times. Historic CentroSora, Canceglie, Borgo San Rocco, and gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains. I will visit again. But please, Lord in Heaven, fix the roads in and into/outof the city!

We chose the location because the city was among many other...

We chose the location because the city was among many other places we planned to visit but we could as well just spend the time lazy-making in the hotel area. There are some bars and (probably) more expensive restaurants serving local dishes. Worth mentioning, the hotel cooperates with international gastronomy and enology school next door. As the weather was challenging, we didn't manage to reach every place and we certainly return in the future with the greatest pleasure. The manager in the reception provided us with a handful of information about many other places we could visit, like Basilica Concattedrale di Santa Maria Salome, and other churche . The minuscule city of Veroli is very well maintained, compared to the others nearby. As far as distinctive places, there is a City Museum, and the most important artifact are so called Fasti Verulani - one of the very few original ancient Roman calendar tables done most probabaly at the times of Octavian Augustus' rule. There is also the newly opened Palazzo Marchese just a few steps from the Filonardi palace, where one may find a super informative exhibition concerning ancient peoples living in this part of Lazio before Romans came. In the nearby cities you have medieval frescoes in Anagni cathedral, another megalithic walls (Alatri), Renaissance palace (Trisoli), Cicero's birth place (Arpino).

This region of Lazio has been hit hard in WWII.

This region of Lazio has been hit hard in WWII. So if you are looking for medieval towns, keep looking. But it is a great place to use as a base to travel to Rome or Naples. It´s close to Montecassino and the abbey, which is a must see when you are in the area. Or visit Reggia Caserta. There is a trainstation nearby in Cassino with great links to Rome or Naples.

Arpino is my family home.

Arpino is my family home. Parents grew up there so it is a familiar village for myself. It has changed significantly over the last 60 years -lots of small businesses gone. The community spirit still exists in the month of August - lots of events going on. If you want to experience Arpino at night then avoid the week of the Gonfalone. It's madness. So much history in the village as it dates back to Julius Caesar's time. Not for the fainthearted though if you want to explore all the narrow alleys. Views are breathtaking. I will be going back but will book for early August

Easy to navigate once familiar with signage. Felt maybe there could have been more available buses however taxis were prompt up to between 7-8 pm in the evening only. There was no available persons to chat with at the railway station which impacted on plans to visit other places of interest. The highlight of our visit was Montecassino Abby , steeped in history of the world war it was Amazing , my second visit there in 2 years bringing a friend along who’s Polish father fought in the war!! The war memorial was breathtaking to witness as was the commonwealth memorials.

An ideal place to visit the marvels both natural and man made that this hidden area near Rome has to offer. Lush nature, fantastic hills, so many historical places and towns with breathtaking sights at every corner. Great both for families and for those seeking action. If you’re a mountain biker you will absolutely fall in love with the area: tens of kilometers of roads and paths to discover in varying degree of difficulty. In one word: awesome.

I spent two weekends in Anangi, the first weekend exploring...

I spent two weekends in Anangi, the first weekend exploring and listening to a jazz band play . The second weekend I revisited and booked a ticket to the Cathedral and the crypt underneath. Definitely worth a visit if you are into art. Also the Bonafacie palazzo was interesting to visit. There is also another church to visit with interesting art work in the centre of the Borgo medieval village area. Parking available in a public multi storey park below the cathedral and a 5 minute walk , Sundays in the white squares can be free unless there is a festival on. Otherwise paid parking in the blue lines. A nice town to walk around and explore.
