This is such a charming hotel that gave us a truly warm Tuscan welcome. A beautiful villa that we were encouraged to treat as our home. All the staff were so friendly and very helpful, particularly with recommending restaurants and cellar tours. The breakfasts were excellent and the location is a short stroll into the town. We loved everything about it.

Arezzo is a wonderful place to visit.

Arezzo is a wonderful place to visit. We came for the Antiques Fair. The Antiques fair was nice, but the rest of the city was exceptional too. The Etruscan museum was a gem! We are really glad we stepped out of the Florence and Rome zone and explored Arezzo.

We love Cortona and its Etruscan history and have visited many times. The views are wonderful and walking around the area that has limited motor vehicle access is great. There are a lot of very good restaurants and shops. You won't be disappointed.

I true gem in eastern Tuscany, this is a very walkable village with great restaurants, bars, views of countryside and amazing history. The people of the town were extremely friendly and it was not overcrowded with tourists. I would highly recommend a visit.

Montevarchi is a small town with a handful of restaurants. The location and The train station is excellent for travelling to other towns. Florence is only 45 minutes by train and the station parking is free.

The swimming pool was lovely.

The swimming pool was lovely. The room whilst perfectly adequate was not as shown in the photograph whilst booking. The shower in the bathroom was a clumsy hand held one that you had to use whilst standing in the bath. The restaurant food was not very good when compared with other local restaurants and the service was somewhat chaotic. Better to go five minutes down the road to the local trattoria.

The historic center of Poppi is a small part of the larger total, but it's interesting, walkable and scenic. We found Google Maps to be very effective getting us to the historic center, but useless getting us to Albergo San Lorenzo. A phone call was required, and the nice clerk cheerfully guided us in real time, out of the center, around the side and directly to the hotel parking lot. It was very close to our "lost" position, but one-way streets had defeated Google Maps and our own efforts. On a Sunday afternoon little was open for a meal but we discovered a cafe directly in front of the Castle and got a good sandwich. The views from there are great.

A lovely historic town with lots to see and do.

A lovely historic town with lots to see and do. It's very walkable and accessible. I was only there for one afternoon/evening but I would definitely consider going back and staying a little longer.

The hotel was beautiful and breakfast was great.

The hotel was beautiful and breakfast was great. The attendant at the desk was very friendly and happy to provide us with a history of the hotel. An elevator would have been helpful as our luggage was quite heavy to get up the stairs.

It is compact. Not Hilly. Has the Pieros to view. Lovely churches. Good restaurants and with a car the perfect base to set out from to explore the Tiber valley and the Val d'Arno. Been going there for some 50 years. Just get the maps and start discovering lost castles and churches and glorious scenery.

A lovely strategic starting point to visit Siena Arezzo and...

A lovely strategic starting point to visit Siena Arezzo and Firenze. Next to A1 highway is comfortable for a round trip by car. Surrounding countryside houses are tiny and atmosphere remind good old times of the past Tuscany when time was going slower and people were living quietly.
