We were on a 2-week trip in Iceland for my hubby's 50th birthday and this was his favourite place. I don't think they knew it was his birthday but they treated us better than anywhere else. It is an impeccably-furnished, totally gorgeous historical guesthouse with wonderful staff, food and warmth. Our room was small but perfect and breakfast was delicious. The town itself is really lovely. Make sure you pre-book Sjavarpakkhusid (kind of opposite) restaurant for dinner - it was also glorious (see photos). Thanks for making this such a special stop on our Icelandic journey!

A really nice little guesthouse. The room, furniture, and bed linens were in good and tidy condition. The shower had hot water, and the bathroom was adequate for a short stay. The breakfast had a nice variety of both savory and sweet options, and in the evening, residents had access to a kettle and microwave. Definitely a place worth staying if your travels take you to this part of Iceland.
