I’ve been to India quite a few times so I’m sort of used to the chaos but some parts of Kolkata were sooo chaotic and really rather revolting. Would highly recommend visit to South Park Street cemetery and St John’s church - fascinating gravestones/ memorial plaques.

I stayed one night at Burdwan Royal Heritage Palace in Darjeeling and it was magical. The room was huge, beautifully furnished, and full of old-world charm. The lush garden was perfect for a peaceful stroll, and the view of the mountains was absolutely spectacular. A true royal heritage —peaceful, grand, and unforgettable. Highly recommended for a royal retreat!

I work as a DJ at night and a bank employee during the day, so balancing both jobs often leaves me completely exhausted. To recharge, I used to take a quick beach trip to Goa every 2–3 months because I’ve always loved the ocean. A while ago, I kept hearing people talk about Digha, so I decided to give it a try. Ever since my first visit, this place has become my regular escape. It’s budget-friendly, peaceful, and gives me the beach vibe I need without spending too much or traveling far. For me, Digha is the perfect “cheap and best” option — a place where I can relax, unwind, and take a break from my hectic day-to-day life. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an affordable and soothing getaway.

Access roads are poorly maintained, or not maintained at all. Despite so many hotels and presumably tourists visiting. Additionally the whole place stinks of fish being dried..... at places terribly. Even one can smell when the breeze is blowing at the beach. Nowhere a beach resort stinks so much. There are better options available.

Kolkata is very fantastic place and we see the glimps of our historical culture. It reminds us our past and culture is still here that we have lost in other cities. It's best city to make visit for our kids. In Delhi and other cities we couldn't find our rituals and customs but here I have seen those things ,we have somewhere forgotten but here everything came back to us .I like most Kolkata city if I get chance to visit my kids again I'll come. Meusium, Victoria palace,new market for shopping,South City mall,everywhere we can eat because good food is available in very cheap onething is that in Kolkata no one can sleep hungry. I'm very happy to write such comments for Kolkata.

Quieter than Darjeeling wonderful views and buddhist temples. The town was bustling but is not very well maintained by the West Bengal Government and the city; eg open garbage dumps and strewn in many places. Wonderful mix of ethnic groups. A good base to explore the Himalayan foothills. Has potential as a tourist hub but still some way from an eco-tourism sensibility. Mostly tourists from the plains of Bengal and other parts of India.

Liked the usual quiet stay with plenty of greenery. There are plenty to do in Shantiniketan. However for repeat visitors just relaxing in a pollution free locality amidst the green surroundings is blissful.

The property is ideal for a weekend getaway. Especially if you value solitude - a couple of days spent in bird watching, deer watching, reading and listening to music. Located on the edge of the Ballabhpur Deer Park and right next to Sonajhuri and the Vishwa Bharati campus.

Calcutta or Kolkata is a city with contradictions. It has intriguing colonial history. But going around Kolkata is a challenge. We loved the British structures around the city including the vibrant Part Street. A drink at Trinca's is a must. Food is varied and yummy esp. Bengali cuisine (Sonar Tori in Salt Lake mall is very good). It is called the City of Joy but the cleanliness could be much much better. People are warm and friendly. A cruise over river Hoogly is a must.
