I hear President Biden was in town the night I was at The Dublin Airport Metro Hotel. He didn't stay there... but he sure should of. No limos needed: the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the airport. Check-in took less than a minute. My room was fit for a posh Republican, or down to Earth Democrat. The restaurant menu got me wishing someone else was with me.... so I could share their food too. I had the Irish Lamb Stew... loved it, and I don't normally like lamb. I only had one night in Ireland, so I sampled whiskies from their well stocked bar and again was very impressed. Back at the room I treated myself to a loooong, hot soak in the bathtub. Where Finland has mostly saunas, in the States we have tubs. Far better than sitting in a hot box, beating yourself with a birch branch. Annnyway my one night "vacation" was something special for me. Even the soapstone tiles in the bathroom were like saying "Welcome Mike. Remember us?". I had worked in soapstone fireplace factory in Finland before retiring. The morning breakfast buffet was fit for King, President, or plain hungry construction worker. If any of you want live like royalty, at a commoner's price... give this place a look.

I just found it unnecessary when you pay for the stay and still leave a deposit of €100 to be able to stay. As I couldn't use my international card, I paid in cash and they asked for a deposit of €100 in addition to the payment to stay.

Didn’t like the white and black pudding and although I liked the taste of the sausage I didn’t like the texture found them mushy. The rest of the breakfast was very nice. Would have liked soda bread with breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful

Location was fantastic, but what made this trip more memorable was the restaurant service and quality of food. For such a young and busy team there knowledge and skills were of an exceptional manor. Such that I praised them to their catering manager on the evening of my stay.

This was our second time to stay, unfortunately both times we arrived at 11:30 pm on a late flight into Dublin and only stayed the night. I think as we arrived so late we should have been allowed to check out late, also I don't know why we had a double and a single bed as there was only the two of us booked in. The hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from.

It's not Santry. It's Ballymun. A place with a bad rep but perfectly OK during daylight hours. The Metro feels totally secure and transport into town or out to airport is simple and low-to-zero cost in both directions.

Portmarnock and this hotel in particular are too often overlooked by visitors and Irish people alike. Sitting right on a beautiful expanse of soft sandy beach, on a DART line and a 14 minute drive from Dublin airport, this location is ideal

A pleasant setting looking out on the Dublin estuary with lovely sunset and sunrise colours during our one-night stay. Good walking to the lovely harbour and sea views at Howth, along either side of the peninsula, or via buses or rail from Sutton station.

Howth was a find for us.

Howth was a find for us. We go to Ireland a lot and usually stay a night or two in Malahide near the airport. This year we decided to try somewhere new and arrived at Howth. This is a destination all by itself. A bustling sea port and the gateway to Ireland's Eye and the coast. The town itself is busy and filled with art and other interesting locations. Howth is famous for its smoked salmon and is filled with interesting restaurants. It is also only a forty minute DART ride into Dublin and twenty minutes to the airport.
