We were upgraded to a Pool View Room, which was such a thoughtful gesture! The Pool View Room has loungers on the balcony—perfect for relaxing in privacy. The room itself was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was another highlight, it has a wide counter that’s ideal for those who bring a lot of skincare. The shower was well-designed, with no water spilling out—a much-appreciated detail. Amenities
They thought of everthing. There’s a lounge area by the pool, a pool bar, beach loungers, bikes, a spa, and even a dessert spot. Security is also a nice addition. We absolutely loved the spa! Be sure to try the Gua Sha Massage and Body Scrub—it’s such a treat. Location
We personally loved the location. The sunsets by the beach were stunning, and the area was quiet—completely different from the busier port area. However, it’s still conveniently close to outdoor cinemas, restaurants, and warungs. To get around, we opted for an e-scooter for ”romantic” tandem rides by the beach, although regular bikes are also available. Service and Staff
The staff were warm, responsive, and incredibly friendly. Every afternoon, they checked in with guests to see if we needed anything—perfect for requesting extra water or towels. They were also great problem-solvers. We came down with the flu during our stay, and they quickly arranged for a doctor to assist us. On our last night, they surprised us with a farewell cake, and the warm send-off at checkout made us feel truly special. Food and Breakfast
This was one of our favorite parts of the day! The staff were attentive and always checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. Breakfast isn’t a buffet; instead, you choose from a well-curated menu, which we loved. If we wanted a little extra bread or bacon, they happily accommodated us. Selection of juices and coffee are also great. They also offer croissants or danishes while you wait.

Everything about this place was perfect! My friend and I stayed here to wrap up our Lombok trip, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The room was super comfy, the bathroom was huge and beautiful, and having a little terrace outside was such a nice touch. The hotel is really well set up, with two pools so it never feels too crowded. Plus, the food at the restaurant and the spa were both amazing. Honestly, I can’t recommend this place enough!

Our room was great - huge, comfortable bed, in a quiet location. It had everything we needed, even a beach bag to take down to the sea. There were always sun beds free. The staff were super friendly and work well as a team. The breakfast choice was really good - of all the restaurants in the area, the Bale Sampan’s was perhaps the best. This place is a gem.

The properly was beautiful. It’s new but has a charming and rustic feel to is and very clean and nicely maintained. Close enough to all of the hustle and bustle of the main area bar down a quiet back alley with only the odd passer by. Indonesia's Laid-back Lombok

A great alternative to busy Bali is lazy Lombok, a more authentic representation for tourists who wish to explore one of Indonesia’s more than 17,000 islands. It is separated from its naughty neighbor by the Lombok Strait to the east and from Sumbawa by the Alas Strait to the west.

Lombok is a typical island paradise of paddy fields, pristine beaches, jungle escapes and mountain retreats. It is largely inhabited by the local Sasak people with a small percentage of Balinese settlers.

Many hotels on Booking.com are centred around the capital of Mataram and the beaches stretching along the north-eastern coastline, including the sweeping bays of Senggigi. Medana Bay is another great northern location for people wanting to visit the nearby Gili Islands, a wonderful snorkeling location and nightlife choice.

Escape the tropical heat in the mountains surrounding Gunung Rinjani, an active volcano where tourists can break in their newly acquired trekking shoes. Other adventures abound on the southern surf beaches of Lombok.

Lombok International Airport is located 33 km south-west from Mataram and services daily flights mainly from Jakarta and Bali. This round-shaped island is approximately 80 km in both directions and offers plenty of variety for a great holiday.

Svarga is as beautiful (if not more beautiful) in person than it is in pictures. I got the Mountain View room and managed to catch glimpses of the sunset over Mount Agung a few nights. Incredible views and service all around. The room was very comfy and cozy and I slept really well throughout my 4D3N stay. The staff at Svarga were incredibly attentive and hospitable and attended to all of my asks and queries - they also helped arrange a motorbike booking for me upon request. Breakfast at their in-house restaurant was really good too. I see alot of negative reviews about the water pressure/temperature or bugs being in the facilities but I didn't have that experience. There was a few bugs/ small lizards here and there esp in the bathroom but I think that's normal considering that the shower is in open air and below trees, as the resort is located right in the middle of palm trees and forestry. I really appreciate the maintenance of the resort, considering that it's 10 years old. It looks clean, bright and well taken care of and I would definitely come back to stay at Svarga if I come to Lombok again.

This was our second stay and this time we stayed with anothet family at the 4 bedroom villa (karang). The villa is beautiful, the view is truly spectacular. This property is perfect for a short family getaway: - close to the airport (40min) - our children (8-10yo) and we loved bodyboarding and surfing (teachers can be hired right on the beach). It is a safe yet fun spot for beginners, and there are bigger waves a bit further (plenty of small boats for hire on the beach to get there) - the beach is beautiful, lively but never too crowded (Sempiak Villa is the only beach front hotel) - the restaurant has a fair amount of options and reasonnably priced (we also ate at Segara a few times where the food is delicious)

Michel and Nia are amazing hosts! They immediately made us feel welcome and we spent a lot of time just chatting to Michel about life and Indonesian culture (plus listening to his singing;)) and Nia made us delicious meals and the best banana pancakes ever for breakfast. They took us on a daytrip to discover Lombok island for a very good price and we were able to see some places we would have never seen if we had been travelling alone. The room was clean and comfortable and had a fan. And the dogs were very cute as a bonus!

I found the island to be dirty with rubbish dumped...

I found the island to be dirty with rubbish dumped everywhere especially in the back streets. Access roads are uneven and can be hazardous. The island is not looked after and suffers from overuse even in the low season. If wanting to dive or snorkel, the boats used by the locals seem to lack maintenance or any safety equipment. Some of the skippers skills leave you wondering. The fast ferry rides out to the island can be 3 hrs or more and are an experience on their own in unfavourable weather conditions. Food is plentiful on the island but nothing to rave about. It's an okay place to chill but many better options available if looking for an island vacay.

I like to spend time there!

I like to spend time there! A lot of good restaurants, nice café coffee shops. There is a local market to buy fruits. The main beach in Kuta is awful, but the beaches around are stunning, such as Tanjung Ann (also for surfing), Tampah Beach, and Mawun! Paradise! Restaurants: La Cuna (Mexican), Elamu (great for a romantic dinner), Jiang Nan. If local – highly recommend Lalapan Amanda.

Insane snorkeling (bring a GoPro or rent one, you won't regret it!) - I saw multiple turtles on the tour I booked, gorgeous sunset horseriding, incredible seafood and Italian food, and really fun to just walk around the island and browse around the shops and sights.

Stayed at tne katamaran hotel, stunning hotel with great food and provided a restful quiet break in stunning surroundings. Both restaurants on site provided great food. The spa was also gorgeous. The entire stay was heavenly! Alu at tne senggigi ferry port organised an amazing day snorkelling at three of the Gili islands. Paradise!

I love my scuba, for me Meno is the perfect place!

I love my scuba, for me Meno is the perfect place! Great dive sites, beautiful corals, full of life and colours, good for advanced or open water divers. For non divers can also be perfect, easy snorkeling, no cars or motorbikes, only walk (2 hours around the island) or push bikes. No big shops, very quite, but it's great to stay on the island, enjoy the water and the quite, for shopping Gili T is only 15 mins boat ride, but without the noise.

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals and great food! Main beach Munah is buzzing with people holidaying and learning to surf With Warungs along the beach you can grab a board or a cold Bintang and enjoy the water Homestays are the way to go but there are also Also beachfront restaurants and resort style places. Beautiful surrounding areas and still quite enough to enjoy local farming I hope it stays this way and foreign resorts do not take over.

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so...

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so welcoming and friendly. They will do almost anything to cater for travellers, for example I am 68 and wouldn’t have been able to do the 6 km walking tour up and down hills and uneven surfaces so they organised a motorbike tour which was great. The tour of the villages was also good and very interesting and informative to see the local market, pottery being made, textile weaving and bamboo weaving. There was a good variety of food and the family dinner was wonderful, so much delicious local food. The accommodation was suitable in a peaceful environment. I really enjoyed my stay.

Was exhausted after Mt.

Was exhausted after Mt. Rinjani climb and this impacted on my exploration of the wider area, which I would've liked to have done more of. Also despite being officially the 'dry season', the weather was often overcast and rainy. I think had things been slightly different and I had had more time, the experience would have been better.. But still a lovely place that has less tourists than other parts of Indonesia.

Strawberry picked was fun.

Strawberry picked was fun. Look at google maps to find places with at least 5 good reviews to find somewhere to go. Hiking Pergasagan Hill and spending the night was amazing! Only thing to note though is that there are a lot of mosques here and they are VERY loud. We didn't get much sleep during our stay.

I love the pool, friendly staff, nice and quiet, but not too...

I love the pool, friendly staff, nice and quiet, but not too far away from the beach and all you need. I loved that they do not have plastic water bottles at all. Fresh refills in glass bottles when you need water. I recommend hiring a bicycle they supply for IDR 50,000 a day.
