The photos do not do the hotel justice- the hotel is way more stunning! Great quiet hotel. Free photo shoot for 1 photo. Staff is very friendly. I reached the hotel at 21:45 and the kitchen was already closed but the staff offered us free sandwiches for dinner! Couldn’t be happier with my stay

Our stay at Kastara Resort was absolutely fantastic—truly a memorable experience from start to finish. Although we didn’t have the chance to try the spa (we were always out exploring!), we are confident it would have been amazing based on the quality of everything else. The service was exceptional—every staff member we encountered was kind, attentive, and always greeted us with a warm smile. Their hospitality made us feel so welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We stayed in one of the suites with an outdoor hot tub, and it was absolutely incredible. Soaking in the hot tub while enjoying the stunning views of the jungle was like a dream come true. The infinity pool was equally breathtaking—a perfect spot to relax and take in the serene surroundings. The cleanliness of the resort was unmatched; everything was spotless, and we’ve honestly never experienced such meticulous attention to detail in a property. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal we had at the resort was excellent, and we loved that we didn’t need to go anywhere else to enjoy high-quality dining. The live music in the evenings added such a lovely atmosphere to our dining experiences. It’s rare to find a place where everything exceeds expectations, but Kastara Resort truly deserves its 5-star rating and more. In terms of location, it couldn’t have been better. The resort is a peaceful haven away from the chaotic center of Ubud, yet still close enough to explore. It’s about a 35-minute walk to the center, which was perfect for us as we could avoid the traffic while enjoying the serenity of the surrounding jungle. It also served as the perfect base for exploring Ubud and its beautiful surroundings. Without a doubt, Kastara Resort is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The location is great, far from the noisy city centre but also it is easily accessible within less than 10mins by scooter if one would go out. Breakfast and food in their own resturant is very rich and tasty, the stuff is super nice and very helpful. They have massage opportunity where they provide balinese massage - very relaxing on a fair price. The rooms, pool and everything in general is very clean and we could use the laundry services as well . Also great about this place is that they provide free mineral water refill option and they also make ice from mineral water so we didnt have to worry about that either.

The warmth of the staff was amazing. Very friendly, attentive and nothing was too much. The pool is nice, and refreshing. The food is good, and the rooftop bar is a nice way to start the evening. They can help organize a shuttle to the center, or a tour with John, which is an amazing guy. I like the welcome card and bed time story. Very thoughtful.

Staf fmade stay very pleasant and they were responsive. Ayu and Fitri comes to my mind, but all of them were good. The location is nearby good eating and massage places. Breakfast was served in the room and they try to accomodate special requests.

This place is amazing. The staff was super friendly and serve also amazing food. The location is great because it's a bit outside and therefore super quiet but you can easily walk to the center in just a few minutes. The pool with the view into the jungle is stunning. I really enjoyed everything and had great days in Ubud.

Staff were very kind and friendly and if I needed anything it was provided. One example was when Sawah staff took me into Ubud on scooter when taxis wouldn't come due to traffic jam. . Proximity to Ubud was close despite being located out in countryside amongst rice fields, so very peaceful and quiet.

The place and surroundings are exactly what I expected and sometime exceeded my expectations, magical place that captivates you and you feel like never leave the place. All the activities are relatively nearby like rafting, swings, quad-biking in the forest and above all, my favourites are waterfalls.

It is remote location with not much accessibility to shopping, restaurants, and other activities. Recommended for people who prefer calm and quiet area and has vehicle for commutation. No spas available nearby, need to go to Ubud center.

It's a lovely area much quieter than Ubud but still lots of cafes etc. The Instagrammers taking selfies is a bit over the top...but they're everywhere. Great views of the rice terraces and beautiful waterfalls and temples in the area.

Beautiful sea view, near to sanur, denpasar, and ubud, but beach has plastic and wooden trash. During rainy season, moths come out every where outside and inside villa. Kitchen is separate from the villa, overall, villa needs upgrade.

The beautiful areas of Sukawati require a car/driver. We went to the art market which was nice, but you could get this art anywhere in Bali for the same price. I hadn't been before and wouldn't stay here again, it's a bit 'commercial' and not tailored to tourists. The villas we stayed in were beautiful, quiet and off the main street, but there was nothing to do (other than get a driver).

I was here 30 years ago and what a difference. I remember Ubud as a quiet craftsman village. Ubud 2025 for my taste was too noisy, too crowded. And way too many Instagram-influencers. No way to take a decent photo since all of them are taking half an hour to get 500 photos taken 🙄

We didn’t stay the cliff to get to villa was too steep, to walk down for me and especially my 71 yr old mother. Place is old can use a coat of paint and some maintenance work done. Being there any person is a completely different appearance than marketing photos. We were such in a hurry to leave this sight and find other accommodations that I didn’t think to take photos. This was one of those things where a picture is worth a thousand words.
