What a fantastic stay at Joel! It’s the shoulder season, so not busy which just made it better. Very modern, spotless clean and the nicest staff you could hope for. Made to order breakfast everyday (buffet when it’s high season) and cocktails by the best pool in Novalja. It was an incredible surprise to find out Dejan Lovren is the owner and he was there the whole time…for any Liverpool supporter, it makes the visit just that much better.

Our stay at the hotel exceeded all expectations! We would especially like to highlight the animator Hugo, who truly brightened our holiday with his energy, enthusiasm, and genuine approach. Our daughter couldn’t wait for the mini disco every evening, which Hugo organized perfectly. We are currently staying at another hotel and can clearly see there is no comparison. Location is perfect, kids friendly beach is in front of the hotel, beautiful view, the food (breakfast and dinner) was very good, room was comfortable and very clean. We stayed with kids (3 months and 3 years old) and we felt welcomed. We would like to visit Novalja and this hotel again..

We loved the tranquil location, our room (romantic room) and the access to the beach. It was nearby with sun beds provided. The staff was incredible friendly and helpful. It was our honeymoon vacation and they arranged breakfast with flowers in the room. Also sauna area is very clean and inviting.

The apartment was spacious, very light and extremely clean. The staff was very nice and helpful, they made it possible for us to check in at 10pm and they were kind enough to give us late check out. Good value for money, the view from the apartment is too good to be true.

The owner was very kind and accommodating.

The owner was very kind and accommodating. The location was a peaceful and convenient place to stay. We ate at the public beach area which we walked to in under 10 minutes. We walked around the marina after dinner and that was a lovely family walk. Would recommend to others.

Novalja is amazing.

Novalja is amazing. Sure, it’s full of people in the high season since the famous Zrce Beach is nearby, but I’ll definitely come back next year. Not just for the beautiful sea and beaches, but also because we never had a chance to be bored.

Good: - beautiful beaches in the area

Good: - beautiful beaches in the area - several markets, no need to travel anywhere during the stay - beautiful walking/running trail called 'Life on Mars'. Not good: - near Slana bay there was a concentration camp in the past which is not commemorated in a good way; one have to find the info by their own - I think most of the people are not aware in what kind of area they spend vacation.

It’s a fairly remote village, but it’s full of life and really gorgeous. There is a little market where you can buy mostly vegetables, some olive oil stands, but the nearest shop is a 20 min drive away. The olive gardens are really beautiful, you can find nice spots along the trail!

Povljana is growing too fast.

Povljana is growing too fast. The rapid construction of unsightly apartment buildings threatens the original charm of this peaceful coastal village and slowly pushes it toward the fate of overcrowded resorts like Makarska. For now, the situation is still bearable – but it feels like a tipping point is approaching. One can only hope that local authorities and residents will act before the soul of the place is lost for good.

The location is fabulous.

The location is fabulous. The sea is clean and full with sea life. There are at least 3-4 restaurants in Mandre, two grocery shops and 2-3 bakeries. There is a cheese shop about 3 km away in Kolan, that has a lot of tasty local specialties.

Beautiful view, very friendly owners who took us on a boat trip, cosy and clean villa is equipped with all the stuff you need e.g. washing machine, dishwasher, table tennis, nicely decorated. Highly recommended.

Our second Croatian island (the first was Lošinj) and...

Our second Croatian island (the first was Lošinj) and another marvel! We were enthralled by the nature, we loved the diverse beaches, the restaurants and food were great, the locals extremely friendly, and for those wondering about Zrće - yes, it is just as lively and fun as everyone is saying. Pag is truly a well-rounded destination and you can be sure there is something for everyone to discover and fall in love with.

Novalja peaks during summer for the festival season, with Zrce Beach nearby. However, it's a cute small town with its own little charm, I would definitely come at a less busy time (that being said, even during festival season it didn't feel crowded at all), and do some driving to nearby spots on the island. Driving is definitely preferred in Croatia in general (just be aware of limited parking and teeny two way streets), but you can arrive by bus to Novalja too.

Small village very quiet, with a couple of restaurants and a nice beach bar shaped like an old galeon. The village has a pebble beach with shallow water that is perfect for families with childre. There is another similar beach about 900 mt from the village, and you can get there by car if you wish. There are a couple of restaurants, we ate at the larger one at the beginning of the village. Nice location on the sea, food is average. There is also a very beautiful hiking trail, called "Life on Mars" that is about 8 km long and is really a must. You can walk it with sneakers, no problem. Perfect place for families and couples who look for a quiet and naturalistic place to spend a regenerating vacation.
