Everythiing, house on tree, the surroundings, quietness, nature, 45 min nicely walk to the river, or with the bike, you are faster. Once you got there you can swim there or go with the kanu to the Jungle bar and swim there also. You should be careful to go on time, cause you need to get with the kanoo back to the treehouse too.At the Jungle bar spot, there are even small waterfalls you can sit in, with amazing greenery. Beautiful.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Villa Rubcic. Rudy is a great host and serves up a very nice breakfast as well as invaluable information about the area.
Couple of restaurants in the nearby towns and short drive to the lakes.

The location was beautiful and the dog was the cherry on top. Beautiful cabin in a stunning location. We loved the BBQ area. Cabin was cozy with lots of outdoor seating areas. Lovely birds and fire flys.

All the streets in the centre of town had been torn up for resurfacing, so it was a big construction site. I'm sure it will be nice once it's finished.
I found a pizza restaurant called Tiffany's, which was good.

The real world Rivendell (from the Lord of the rings).
The real world Rivendell (from the Lord of the rings). Thousands of small waterfalls between the houses. Very good restaurants serving locally grown trouts. Possibility of swimming in the river at the bottom of the chain of waterfalls. Plitvice is only 30 mins.

You really need several days to visit what that place has to offer. Don’t miss the Spelaton center and Barać caves. We been on Barac Traill race and the organizers really do the best of them. Also don’t miss the fast food in rakovica on road by the Apartment green park with delicious burgers.

The house was clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. It was well equiped with everything necessary for a barbeque. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We especially loved the gift of local delicacies of smoked sausages and cheeses. There was even homemade bread. All so delicious! We would recommend this place to friends and family for a quiet getaway!

We stayed in Grabovac as we wanted to visit Plitvice.
We stayed in Grabovac as we wanted to visit Plitvice. We booked our tickets a day before for 7am. I'm glad we went early as from 9am the park was very busy. We used entrance 2, for a longer walk (but not the longest), it was very good until we reached entrance 1 (by small ferry) which was extremely busy. I do not recommend entrance 1 as the queue for ferry was very very long. Generally avoid busy periods if you want to enjoy nature.

This town is very close to Plitvice and a great place to stay for less money than the official Plitvice hotels. There are a couple of restaurants in town, Restoran Degenija serves delicious food, a bit upscale, though not too expensive. Most of the town is on the main road to Plitvice, so there is a lot of traffic.

Honestly, there's not a lot to do. There are some trails in the area that are nice, and a couple not too far out of town, and the town itself is nice to wander through. So, if you have in mind a stay that is completely relaxed, immersive, in a natural setting with GREAT VIBES all around, this is a great place to visit. We would not even know about it if we didn't just pick a place to stay for 2 days to break up our drive. But, what a stroke of GREAT FORTUNE!

Very nice town, with beautiful centre/ though at the moment there are a lot of reconstructions of the roads in the old town, as well as on some main buildings/. Very safe place to walk around even late in the evening. Concerts nearby Zorin dom, almost every evening. Full of cafes and small restaurants;) cheap enough ☺️Very nice and helpful people!

A pear in the Balkans- I was ignorant this kind of landscape was available in Croatia. Reminded me of being in Switzerland and Germany but a very low-key vibe. The falls, the river, the national park....you haven't seen anything like it

We stayed here primarily to visit Plitvice national park but the area was beautiful, a complete contrast to the Croatian coastline. It felt very Austrian in influence with chalet style houses, lots of green countryside and flowers. It was also a lot cheaper to eat out and buy coffees/ice creams than on the coast. Plitvice was incredible (although v hot and busy in August). I would like to go back at a quieter time as there were long queues to get on the boats which was not ideal in the heat with children. It was a shame that there is nowhere you are allowed to swim as we would have enjoyed the opportunity to cool off!
