United KingdomI had a wonderful stay at Hotel Vallum in Cavtat. The staffs were wonderful, friendly and always ready to help. The highlight was the beautiful sea view and stunning sunsets right from my en suite room. The accommodation was very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed, including an iron, gown, slippers, and a well-stocked kitchen.
The hotel is about a 15–20 minute walk from the town, with plenty of restaurants along the way. We also had dinner on the island of St. Pietro, where the hotel offers guests a 20% discount in the restaurant and lounge, as well as arranging a skipper boat to and from the island – such a unique experience!
There are lots of sea activities right next door, and Zal Beach, only a 10-minute walk away, is a fantastic spot for swimming. Overall, my stay was relaxing, memorable, and exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend Hotel Vallum to anyone visiting Cavtat.

Had a lovely stay here, Kristina and Dejan were welcoming and always ready to help with any matters during my stay. The room was perfect for my needs and the common areas outside we're inviting. Breakfast was good, had enough of everything. It's located just a short walk away from the promenade, tucked a little bit away from the main road so it's very quiet except for the occasional airplane that can be heard everywhere in Cavtat equally. There's a bus stop right around the corner for trips to Dubrovnik. Airport transfer was smooth and uncomplicated.

Really lovely apartments, very spacious and clean. Perfect for travelling with children or in a group.
The facilities were great, everything you needed including a washing machine.
It’s well located for the centre of Cavtat as it’s only an 8 min walk down to the front via the steps or the road.
The pool is a fabulous addition and harder to come by that close to the centre.
The hosts were really welcoming and very helpful.
Would stay here again!

The staff is extremely friendly. Mrs Franka knew us by name, always took her time to greet us and give us information. The breakfast is excellent, so many options. Location is great, we walked to the beach every day and the busstop is also very close by. Communication with the property was also great. Super happy with our experience and stay, definitely recommend.

We used Mlini for a night before flying out of Dubrovnik...
We used Mlini for a night before flying out of Dubrovnik Airport. We started our Croatia holiday in Split, then did a Bike and Boat through the islands, ending up in Dubrovnik. Seeing how far Dubrovnik is from the airport, I sought closer accommodations, and it was a quick 10 minutes in the early morning when our driver picked us up at 5:40 a.m. After being there, for one day, I wish I could have spent several days there just relaxing!

Cavtat is the perfect homebase for visiting Croatia.
Cavtat is the perfect homebase for visiting Croatia. It's a cozy walkable seaside village with many restaurants, and not overrun with tourists like Dubrovnik. To see Dubrovnik it's easy and cheap to do a day trip from Cavtat, with boats departing many times per day. As a bonus Cavtat is not far from the airport.

Friendly, helpful, and genuine owner, who was very kind and accommodating. Fresh figs on the table! We highly recommend this property for anyone who needs a walk-to lodging from the airport. There is even a diner 2 blocks away.

The hosts where wonderful people, very friendly and made you feel right at home. The accommodation was very handy for closeness to the airport. Only a short stay but there was shops and restaurants nearby and you weren't far from the main road for easy access to wherever you were planning to go to.

There was a lot to do in the area, whether a person wanted to shop at a shopping mall, or smaller souvenir shops. The downtown Dubrovnik area was a short ride away, which offered great views and history of Old Town where a person could spend several days at all the shops, restaurants, nightclubs, and even take a cooking class - which we did. There were plenty of gellato shops on every street. I highly recommend the Local Cooking Class where we learned how to make bread, cook mussels, make macaroni, then candied almonds for a sweet treat. Then we enjoyed our meal together - it was wonderful.

For me it’s too late in the year for sea swimming but not...
For me it’s too late in the year for sea swimming but not for sunbathing if that’s your thing. Not for me, good weather is important for boat trips and exploring further afield and this is a good base for that but can be pricey. Nothing much to do in Cavtat at this time of year and basically it all closes down on 31st October. Half the restaurants are still open but I don’t know for how much longer and they are also pricey. Dinner for two with a drink and a glass of wine is is very easily €100 plus. The whole town gets dressed up and comes out for a walk on Sunday. Very nice, just like Italy or Spain.
My overall impression is that tourists are coming with holiday money and they want as much of it as possible. I suppose that’s how you only open for 6 or 7 months of the year. So, nice place and a lovely hotel at reasonable price ( but that may be because it was closedown time?) but be ready to spend!

Website says has restaurant with a la cart menu…. since it was Sunday and we were the only guests, manager offered to cook spaghetti which I don’t eat…and referred us to a pizza place, which turned out to be good .
Breakfast was personally cooked for us since we were the only guests.
Most stores nearby were closed because it was Sunday.
Location to airport was good.
Would recommend ONLY as an airport hotel.

1) It's a small village, so I expected food to be more affordable. Instead, I found a bunch of expensive restaurants. It was the end of the season meaning not many tourists. Still, no discounts, ridiculous prices. I mean 25 eur for a modest pizza, what's that really???
2) Public parking is virtually non-existant. If you travel by car, make sure your host arrange you a parking spot.

In the beautiful Konavle valley, not far from Dubrovnik, Čilipi has a small but interesting ethnographic museum across the square from St. Nicholas church. Try to time your stay to see the folk dancing. A short drive away you will find the Sokol Grad fortress and a restored Rector's residence. Be sure to visit the amazing Konavoski Dvor restaurant.
