Its a genuine luxury resort for affordable money and the guests and staff act accordingly. For an average person on a holiday its amazing, for someone looking for a 5 star hotel with a concierge etc...well you would have to pay elsewhere for similar or worse set up for a lot more money. Its new and beyond impressive from views to the interior, If you meet 1 bad staff member, they were probably bad or having a bad day, if you meet all bad staff members, you're probably the issue.

From the moment we arrived at Zlatni Rat Beach Resort, we were completely captivated by its unbeatable location—just steps from the iconic Zlatni Rat Beach, with its crystal-clear waters and unique pebble shoreline. It truly doesn’t get better than this. The resort itself is thoughtfully designed for convenience and comfort. Parking is just seconds from the rooms, which are spotless, stylish, and equipped with everything you need for a relaxed and carefree stay. And the food? Absolutely exceeded my expectations. I’ll admit I was skeptical about hotel dining at first, but this is no ordinary hotel restaurant. It's a proper, high-quality restaurant connected to the resort—and honestly, one of the best around. I highly recommend trying the octopus salad—it's a standout dish. What truly made this stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Their warmth, humor, and dedication elevated our entire experience. At reception, Biljana, Dusan, and Miki were incredible—always available, helpful, and full of that genuine Balkan hospitality that makes you feel like family. In the restaurant, Josip, David, and Strahinja not only provided fantastic service but also brightened our days with laughter, generous touches, and spot-on recommendations. Honestly, it’s the people here who will bring me back. The building is beautiful, the beach is world-class, the food is delicious—but it’s the staff that made it unforgettable. If I had to find one downside? The mosquitoes—but even they couldn’t dampen such an amazing experience. PS: I read a review stating that there is a strong smell from the sewage which I did not feel as everything around us only smelled of lavenders, the sea and some great food.

Sutivan is a small town on the island of Brac, which, unlike other more busy places, offers many more opportunities to relax, enjoy long walks, and watch the sunset. Selca is located in the eastern part of the island of Brač,...

Selca is located in the eastern part of the island of Brač, in the interior of the island, about 1 km from the sea at an altitude of 114 m. On the coast are the tourist zones Puntinak and Ružmarin located around the beautiful beaches of Radonja, Spilice and Žirje, which offer a wide selection of quality private accommodation in apartments and holiday homes. Selca is first mentioned in 1184 as a shepherd's settlement and later as a stonemasonry center on the island of Brač. The symbol of Selca is stone, which enabled the development of the stone industry, from which beautiful houses, churches and castles surrounded by beautiful parks. A particularly suggestive location is Glavica, where the old Croatian church of St. Nicholas of XI. century with a dome, above an abandoned old quarry. Selca and Sumartin are also known for their home-cooked food (lamb, cheese, wine, honey) and the rich offer of beautiful restaurants, which remain in the memories not only due to the appearance but also the rich domestic and international gastronomic offer. In Selca you will find all the conditions for a quiet holiday, pleasant swimming on the nearby beaches and in numerous bays, quality hospitality offer, while entertainment lovers have everything within reach in Bol, 20 km away.

It's definitely not a party town, it is a peaceful village.

It's definitely not a party town, it is a peaceful village. The most entertainment was drinking cocktails at The Port bar and watching the yachts coming into the marina. There are no tourists shops (or any shops apart from the butcher and the supermarkets - which was fine with me but could be a negative for others who like to stroll and shop. Easy bus ride to Supetar to cure that need. The bus services in and out are easy - Supetar to Pucisca and then from there to Bol although it required a phone call from one driver to the other to wait at Gornje Humac to meet us. Easy.

We were happy that Povlja has a variety of beaches: city, bay, peninsula-top, secluded bay. We discovered real interesting things locally: the famous early Christian basilica, the viewpoint overlooking the entire bay, an abandoned war bunker on a nearby beach, the somersaults and head-jumps of local youth in the harbor in the evenings. There are also several restaurants and ice cream parlors. We ate excellent pizza and squid with tartar sauce.

The town of Supetar, the island of Brac and the country of Croatia were all great places to visit. But I will never visit any of them again unless Croatia leaves the Shengen area because no power-crazy control freak bureaucrats are taking my fingerprints and retaining them which is what is required by the EU's EES scheme. Of course, as is highly likely, if the EES software is hacked and is so useless the scheme is withdrawn in a few years time then I may again travel to Croatia.

We loved Bol, it was a lovely resort with plenty of restaurants, great walks and beaches and it had a friendly, laid-back vibe with people of all ages. Zlatni Rat beach was lovely and when we were there it wasn't overly busy and although clearly set up for tourists they seem to have kept the balance just about right (although the sun beds and shades are ridiculously expensive at 39 euros per day for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella), needless to say we didn't bother. The walk along the promenade to Zlatni Rat was gorgeous with lots to interest from interesting villas, bars, tourist gift stalls, sculptures and the tree cover made it shady and attractive. Equally the walk into town and the harbour and then further along to the monastery was also interesting and always something different to see. Food and drink is not cheap sadly but most of the meals we had were really good quality - for a special meal try Boket 78, our most expensive meal but the flavours were amazing. I had the lamb and it was one of the best meals I've ever had, hubby had the black risotto and he said it was full of flavour too. Also the vegan restaurant Biomania was lovely. We loved Bol and would happily visit again.
