Located in Rio Dulce and with Castillo de San Felipe de Lara reachable within 10 km, Linda Vista provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a restaurant. Amazing stay! If you're coming to Rio Dulce this is the place to stay! Family run, very well kept place. The photos & description on booking.com don't do this place justice - it is much better than we expected! Very clean!! The pool is perfect to cool down & the rooms are spacious. We stayed for 6 nights in the end and many people came only for 1 night. This is the perfect place to slow down and relax if you have been travelling for a while like us - so we advise that you stay here for at least a few nights and enjoy the peacefulness. The owner speaks English - the rest of the staff don't but they are all very friendly and done everything to help us. They will pick you up by boat right at the shuttle stop in Rio so it is a really easy transfer to get there. Every day they took us into the town by a really nice 10 minute boat ride. They can book other trips for you - we went for a boat trip to Livingston. And they also booked our onward shuttle to Guatemala City for us. 10/10 service 👍 Rio Dulce town is crazy. The contrast between the chaos in the town and the tranquility of Linda Vista was perfect for us.
Hotel in El Higuerito
Set in El Higuerito, a few steps from Ribera Rio Dulce Beach, Tenamit Maya has a number of amenities including a garden, a restaurant and a bar. Guests can enjoy mountain views. It was a very nice stay. The staff was very nice and the food was tasty (we got huge portions). We swam in the river, went zip line and kayaking. It is very quiet and pleasant around. Beautiful place. There were some mosquitoes, but that's obvious if you book a house in such a place. And the location is great.

It was hard to find the parking to the hotel. When we booked it the description did not specify that the parking was across the Rio Dulce River and that we needed to take a boat to get to the hotel. After asking around with the locals we found a back door to the hotel but they did not let us in because it was only for the staff so we had to go all the way back around the town over the bridge to find the parkin place. After that ordeal everything when on wheels.
Rio Dulce
This is a really nice chill place to stay in Rio Dulce. To my surprise considering you are in a mangrove, it was the hottest shower I had in Guatemala, I did not get eaten by mosquitos probably due to the good quality mosquito nets and I slept super well. The restaurant area is really nice and the food is good - especially the fruit juices, hamburger and fries. The free kayaks are cool to take out as well.
El Hotelito Perdido is a hidden gem. We loved this place (and the food!) very much and it is a perfect spot at Rio Dulce to relax, enjoy nature or go kayaking. The whole team is super friendly and helpful. The cabins are beautiful - only the fan was hardly enough but that was due to the extremely hot weather:). We will definitely come back!
Nice staff and room! It is noisy die to the road but if you live in the city it is the same amount of noise. We were so tired from our trip from Mexico city and went straight to Rio dulce it was easy for us to fall a sleep Also pick up (collectivo/public boat) from the hotel to Livingstone and other river lodges
Great location off the main Rio Dulce, with a great central relaxing area. Good range of activities on offer, including kayaking, walking and swimming, as well as a number of paid walks and visits. Take the hotel’s own launch from Rio Dulce, rather than the public launch, as it is better value and quicker.
Rio Dulce
What an amazing hostel, well designed and organized, exceptional service, comfortable, immaculate. The 4 bed dorm is comfortable and enough privacy for the solo traveler. Location is very quiet, perfect for slowing down and lazing away in Rio Dulce, which does not have much character compared to livingston.
Rio Dulce
I enjoyed my stay in the hostel! I checked in at 11.30 pm and that was no problem at all. The room and bathroom were very clean, the wifi was decent enough to get some work done and Flor even warmed up my breakfast after my meeting ended. Would recommend it if you stay the night in Rio Dulce town!
Very nice hotel! Across the bridge from Rio Dulce itsself, but everything is a short tuktuk ride or boatride away. Perfect location and pool. Very nice cabins! Best we had in the whole of Guatemala.
