BulgariaIt’s bright new apartment on the second floor. Bed and sofa are comfortable. The heating system is great! The house is on the main road to Kerkini, but it was very quiet and we slept well. The host is a very kind lady who explain us everything about the house and surroundings. Even she arranged a boat trip in Kerkini lake for us. We really enjoyed the boat trip and the whole experience!

Beautiful place to stay for a night or two on our way to south Greece. Comfortable rooms, great view, close ro small village with tavernas, nearby stunning monastery. Good breakfast if you pay extra

Kerkini lake is really romantic and it is worth to go there!
Kerkini lake is really romantic and it is worth to go there! There were hundreds of pelicans and flamingos. We also tasted the very famous buffalo meat. Amazing place ad we'll definitely come back again.

IT IS A VERY SERENE PLACE, WINTER TIME, THE LAKE HAD THE CHARM OF THE GREY COLOURS... GOOD RESTAURANTS AND TAVERNS NEARBY WITH GOOD LOCAL PRODUCTS AND ESPECIALLY BUFFALO MEAT AND DERIVED PRODUCTS. IT IS VERY EASY AND QUICK TO GO AROUND THE LAKE BY CAR, HAVE AN HOUR BOAT SIGHT SEEING (DO NOT MISS IT!)

A brilliant base to climb up Radomir and Kagour, a stunning mountain range marking the border between Greece and Bulgaria, with North Macedonia to the West. A lake in the vicinity sports a variety of pelicans and other rare birds. We saw storks. Magnificent place.

Nicos who was boat owner and guide was excellent.
Nicos who was boat owner and guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the birds and wildlife. The village is a few kilometres from the lake so transport is needed but there are tavernas and a shop within yards. I would definitely return. We stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Limnaio.

The location overlooking lake kerkini was sublime in...
The location overlooking lake kerkini was sublime in September. Easy to drive around the lake from here. Amazing birdsong and you could hear the flamingos from the hotel balcony. 20 minute drive to the lake to get the boat.
Restaurants not great here but staff are so friendly. Villa Belles is the best hotel. We would love to have stayed longer than 2

The lake in this locality is the attraction.
The lake in this locality is the attraction. There the locals raise buffaloes, a part of this lake resembles a delta. I saw turtles walking on the side of the road, storks, cormorants and other beautiful animals. I served the meal at FRAGMA. We ate traditional, very tasty products, the people who served us were nice and the price of the food was reasonable.

It is a quiet, calm place.
It is a quiet, calm place. Cycling along the lake is possible, or horse riding if you prefer! Birdwatching and fishing are very popular. Boat trips are also possible for much of the year. Nearby sites to visit include Fort Rupel.
