The rooms and building were beautiful -high celings, styled in an antique way. Amazing Service- The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was really good- coffee, juice, toast with spreads, mix of fruit, greek yogurt, honey and a choice of eggs cooked your way. The beds were comfortable Great location as 5 or 7 minutes walk from Port. Minimal stairs compared to the rest of the island . Slight incline up from Port, but only a feew stairs up at the hotel. This was good as I have a bad Knee

Charming hotel in short walk from the port. Room was big and silent, bed comfortable. The best part was breakfast served in small patio - they had very delicious homemade jams, fresh pastry, cheeses etc. Everything was fresh and local.

The room was wonderful! Big, beautiful, white and airy. Nice furniture, good bathroom, lots of windows to open up in the bedroom, we were very happy there. The family who host are just the nicest people you can meet! We had use of a courtyard with table and chairs, location is right in the town but down a lane so completely quiet, many good restaurants very close by.

Our stay at this traditional Hydra accommodation was perfect!Nestled right in the heart of the island, the property combines authentic charm with all the modern comforts one could wish for. The house is tastefully decorated, reflecting the island’s character with whitewashed walls, wooden details, and airy interiors. It is fully equipped with every essential: a well-stocked kitchenette, comfortable bedding, air conditioning, and thoughtful touches that make the stay feel effortless. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the harbor, restaurants, and local boutiques—yet tucked away enough to offer peace and quiet after a day of exploring. What truly stood out was the warm hospitality and attention to detail, which made us feel at home from the very first moment. If you are looking for a stay that blends tradition, comfort, and convenience, this Hydra gem is an ideal choice. ♥️

Perfect location in peace and quiet, away from the town hussle. Surrounded by nature and sea breeze. 15 min walk to the Hydra town and close to many swimming spots. Stairs leading to the house are excellent excercise! This house feels really like home, it has everything you need and has been decorated in a very, very nice way. Stunning views to the sea and fresh air, amazing night sky. Fully equiped kitchen if you wish to cook your own food. Owner of the house is really helpful and friendly, feels like you are part of the family. Overall this is such a cosy and unique place to stay. We definately wish to return!

The photos really reflect what the apartments are like. There were no negative surprises, just positive ones. For example, the room was cleaned and soap/shampoo/coffee/tea were restocked daily during our stay. This was very convenient and a nice gesture by the owner. The house is run by a family and they are very interested to help by providing information. They were present and could be contacted if anything was needed. They are very nice people, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

Please note I visited Hydra during the winter season (so several of the tourist things had odd hours or were closed, very understandable)and I can only imagine how much more magical this would be in the summer months. I was so rejuvenated - the food was delicious and everyone I met was just a joy and so proud to share their island. I understand how Leonard Cohen among other famous musicians (anyone know The Rolling Stones?) loved being here. It's a creative hub! The lack of cars force you to slow down. It's such a perfect spot for a "reset". Super walkable - beautiful hills.

Mandraki was a hidden gem of a place, only a 20-minute walk along the coast from Hydra Town, but away from all the hustle and bustle and with its own little beach and taverna - everything you could possibly need for a deeply relaxing holiday.

It is alarmingly expensive to have coffee on the quay, and some hotels are beyond belief, over a thousand euros a night! It feels like Hydra could end up hollowed out like St Ives in Cornwall, unless someone takes responsibility for big money muscling into society. Other than that, we loved the sun and the lack of cars and the lovely people we met, all generous and welcoming.

Nice to visit for a few days and enjoy walking about and meeting cats. Walk a little bit down from the harbour for maybe one hour and there is a good pebble beach. Make sure you do the walk up to the Prophet Elias monastery and bring some Euros for their small gift shop
