What wonderful people! So friendly and helpful. Ate at the restaurant, food was fabulous. The breakfast hamper was the most adorable thing! The rooms are all new, decorated so nicely. I loved that we could smell the wood as if it were just cut.

A Gorgeous homely yet modern property with the most welcoming of staff made for a truly enjoyable experience. My home-from-home for a week was comfortable, great value has great food and drink choices at very reasonable prices and the location was perfect for me. I stumbled across the establishment purely as they have Tesla EV chargers on site, and I was not disappointed by anything else the place has to offer! I’m now looking to find any excuse to visit again! Many Thanks to the entire team at Gwesty Links

FAQs about hotels in Wales

Land of the Hills and the Dales

A land of magnificent mountains, centuries-old castles and beautiful beaches, Wales is steeped in proud tradition. A centre of culture, its elegant capital Cardiff houses some of the 5-star hotels in Wales on Booking.com.

Swansea has several Wales hotels with swimming pools and is the gateway to the tranquil Gower Peninsula. It was also the birthplace of Dylan Thomas, whose famous boathouse is in Laugharne near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within this park are St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, and the colourful South Wales beach resort of Tenby. Other beach resorts include the university town of Aberystwyth, Barmouth and Prestatyn with its Blue-Flag beach. Popular Llandudno has a long pier sheltered by a headland.

Also with a pier is Bangor, opposite Anglesey - a rugged island known for wildlife. It looks back towards Snowdonia National Park, whose changing landscapes encompass Wales’ tallest mountain. Within the park are serene Bala Lake and Betws-y-Coed whose fast-flowing river becomes the Swallow Falls.

The Brecon Beacons house more lush peaks, while Chepstow to the south-east has a racecourse and riverfront Norman castle. Other fantastic Wales castles are in Conwy, Harlech and Caernarfon – possibly the best of them all.

Wrexham is the largest North Wales town with great nightlife, while nearby Llangollen is best known as for its International Eisteddfod.

Clean, smart rooms and an extremely comfortable bed. The setting at the Vale was outstanding, a "Hidden Gem" in the heart of the beautiful Welsh countryside (God's Country), complete with a first-class, immaculately kept golf course. During our stay we were fortunate enough to be surrounded by the Welsh Rugby Union team, who were impeccably behaved, very friendly, and respectfully engaged with guests. The Vale Team, who were always so polite friendly and smiley, clearly go above and beyond to ensure every stay feels special. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality really stood out. The spa facilities (including the Jacuzzi), pool and access to a professional-level gym were a huge bonus. We stayed at the Vale to celebrate our wedding anniversary and would highly recommend it to others. A fantastic experience in every respect! A massive "Diolch yn fawr" to the whole Team at the Vale for facilitating all requests prior to arrival and your first class hospitality.

Cardiff is my favourite city for a short break.

Cardiff is my favourite city for a short break. The castle is great, walks through the beautiful adjacent park calming all times of the year, and the shops and restaurants are amazing. We loved the Potted Pig restaurant and Temple Bar Irish Pub (conveniently opposite each other!). Cardiff is great for anything on at the Utilita arena as it is right next door to the shopping centre and central for an easy walk from any of the city centre hotels.

A lovely, atmospheric seaside town packed full of great attractions with a spectacular pier. The Great Orme, ski lift, fabulous historic tram and many splendid views to the mountains as a backdrop. Excellent retail parks and and a very picturesque shopping main street , but perhaps the highlight is the wonderful picturesque sweep of the bay with its brightly coloured hotels and houses sweeping around the bay. Well served by bus and train and good road access to the beautiful surrounding countryside that is North Wales.

We met up to play golf on a very good but demanding course, enjoyed. We visited a number of bars, the closest was the Castle Hotel which was only a few doors down. Great welcome, good vibe and good beer. We eat at Harry's Bar for our Xmas meal. The food was excellent as were the staff. Overall a very good trip. In the morning we even got to see massive waves crashing against the sea wall, very dramatic.

We saw the outside stadium (had no time for a tour of that facility), bought some Wrexham football club souvenirs downtown at a bigger store than is in the stadium, and enjoyed a pint and lively conversation in The Turf pub. Met a fellow who took us downtown and did an impromptu tour of Wrexham! He was knowledgeable and good fun! Getting around is easy via walking.
