The room at Chris's house was amazing. We had the attic room and were treated to wonderful sunrises and sunset. Chris also provided a bowl of fruit, water and a good selection of teas, infusions and coffee. Normally, you only get this in a 4 or 5-star hotel. We got it at Chris's B&B ! ! ! The room was spacious and the bathroom had natural light ie: a window. Chris was a wonderful host with huge knowledge about the area. His B&B is also the perfect starting point to explore the South Downs.

Delightful inn near Brighton-Hove football stadium. That was our purpose in staying at the Downs Hotel. The inn is not near downtown attractions. They arrange bus transport to/from the stadium, which is about 2 hilly miles from the hotel. The inn seems to have been recently renovated. It is located adjacent to the beautiful South Downs national park. Parking at the inn fills up early on days with football matches. Lively pub and friendly staff.

loft is bigger than the photos appear and was plenty of space for our family with young children. also provided space for an Easter egg hunt. the kitchen was fantastic and allowed us to easily home cook breakfasts and some dinners, the the nearby bakeries have more than enough to satisfy as well. the location was great and Midhurst is super cute. it is well placed to explore south downs. Laura was very responsive to any questions we had.

We stayed overnight at The Castle Inn Hotel in Bramber while walking the South Downs Way. A nice welcome from the young staff and a large, comfortable room on the second floor. A very good katsu chicken curry for dinner, with a glass of ale from the local micro brewery. A good night's rest and a great choice of breakfast options to set us up for our walk the next day - I had a huge mushroom and cheese omelette!

Relaxing, peaceful rural woodland location with a patio carefully laid out garden area option for breakfast. Great views over the South Downs - and amazing, dark night sky on a clear night. The self-contained apartment was well designed with a lovely breakfast basket provided to eat when you want, inside or out. Sally the host was really helpful throughout our stay. David

We had a spacious and bright room overlooking the beautiful garden. We stayed at the room "Treehouse". The hotel's location is ideal for excursions in the area. There are several golf courses nearby, you can take a walk in the South Downs, Brigthon is easy to reach. In the street there are several shops and restaurants. Very convenient.

The decor was stunning and so were the views. Such a beautiful apartment and the hosts were amazing - such lovely little touches like beer in the fridge, chocolates and croissants. It was really clean and we were able to check in early. The views around Rottingdean and the south downs are fab. Would highly recommend

Lovely town and swan in old centre, so close but not too busy. Nice square and church opposite. Seating on pavement to watch world go by. Good breakfast in cafe opposite. Staff very helpful. Good range of beers. Parked in centre by hotel, free. We stayed before walking south downs and wanted to return to explore town.

For us, the location is excellent being close to Midhurst and with easy reach to Petersfield and the other towns within the South Downs. The facility has a pub and Thai restaurant and the food is excellent. The village the Hotel is situated in is pleasant to walk around in the evening or early morning.

It is a dream, fairy-tale castle with a perfect reception staff and a most beautiful location. The rooms are delightful , the setting is like a film scene , worth a trip, definitely. The nearby village is absolutely gorgeous, walks from the hotel through the valley and the South Downs are delightful.

The hostel is right on the South Downs Way, so is perfectly located after a long day’s walk. The cafe/kitchen had a good selection of drinks, snacks and meals. The lounge area was really nice too and a great place to relax with a good selection of board games. The staff were really friendly too.

Community run pub in a small village on the South Downs Way. Staff are lovely. The room was small but fine for me. There was a function in the bar/restaurant but the staff made sure guests of the hotel had a space in the bar to eat. Nice cooked breakfast. would stay again!

Lovely stylish pub hotel and restaurant. Lovely service and historic building. Great food and beer. Beautiful sunny garden. Lovely dinner and breakfast. Perfectly located for the half way mark of my hike along the South Downs Way. I will come back sometime for a mini break.

The room was a good size and the bed was really comfy. Food in the restaurant was reasonably priced and tasty. We only visited Arundel and its castle but I think the hotel is in an ideal situation for exploring the south coast and South Downs National Park

The hotel is a pleasant building in a nice location close to the South downs way. The room met our expectations. The evening meal was from a carvery and perfectly acceptable. We were able to put our bicycles in a secure room for the night.

The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order, John and Lisette were great hosts and very welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend the Chequers Hotel if you need a base in the south downs.

A great location in the lovely village of Alfriston and walking the South Downs.The food in Dean's Place Hotel was very good for evening meals and breakfast.
