Nice little room, lovely clean bathroom, enough towels to use even though we had to bring it to Nick's attention that house keeping didn't change the towels they just hung the dirty and wet towels back up. We had enough tea and coffee making facilities, we had a fan in the bedroom but felt that 2 might of been better, the hotel doesn't serve food but we knew that before booking but there's loads of cafes and pubs very local. All in all a very nice hotel and we would stop again.

Absolutely loved the hotel. Located right next to the caves (which I didn't visit. Next time! ) and close to Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury. Fabulous walks. Breakfast and dinner were both very well prepared and delicious. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was excellent, great water-pressure (it's a thing... ;) ) Wifi was perfect.

Staff very attentive and could not do enough to ensure you had an enjoyable stay. I opted for the continental breakfast which had everything I wanted and left me feeling full after eating. Lovely town, quaint areas, of quality resteraunts, shops, Don't miss Thatchers - it is like a 1950's giant Co-Op - but with a huge stock of up to the minute electronics, traditional bedding etc- all you need for your home - all of the best quality - lovely to see it all in one place . Such welcoming staff- a step back in time, once more I feel that all the props for Downton Abbey could have come from there !!!!!! Taunton is quality throughout- enjoyed our visit

Wells is a beautiful city which has retained its character and is not too tourist focused. The Cathedral is fabulous. worst part of Yeovil is the bottom end of town in the pedestrianised area as there seems to be a regular crowd of junkies and unsavoury types hanging around drinking bottles of unknown substances and smoking weed and nobody is moving them on. Top end of town is more pleasant but parking is a really bad problem.

I was only passing through and stayed one night just outside Wincanton. I only had time for a short walk round the town but found a lovely independent cafe/delicatessant, 'Clementina', comfortabe with a warm welcome. I had a lovely coffee and almond croissant to warm up, and while in conversation with the ?owner, she only charged for my coffee as a birthday treat!! This was a quiet Sunday morning in early December but would stop off again and be interested to see more of the town.

Liked · EXCEPTIONALLY PEACEFUL AND CLEAN ACCOMMODATION. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. From the moment we we arrived at Maplestone we were made to feel really welcome. Alan showed us to our room and made us a pot of tea with cake and sat with us in the garden, great service. Alan is an excellent host with a friendly, professional manner with great local knowledge. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Exceptional breakfast was plentiful and delicious with great choice. The property has a beautiful, quiet garden with tables and chairs to relax in. Would definitely stay again. Well done Alan and thank you for your making us feel so welcome.
