Staying at the Prince's House was an absolute delight! The old mansion exudes timeless elegance, transporting you back to the era of Scottish nobility. The spacious rooms provided ample comfort, allowing us to relax in style. The restaurant exceeded expectations with its diverse menu of fine cuisine, each dish impeccably prepared and utterly delicious. The attention to detail extended to the pottery and silverware, adding a touch of refinement to every dining experience. Without hesitation, I highly recommend the Prince's House to anyone seeking to indulge in the luxurious charm of a bygone era and feel like royalty for a day. A truly five-star experience!

We arrived at the hotel in the dark and rain. Luckily, there was a parking space right next to the building, so we could check in quickly and comfortably. The staff gave us a very warm welcome, which was lovely after a long journey. We settled into our rooms easily – they were spotlessly clean and cosy. It was simple to make the room nice and warm. The bathroom had soap, shower gel, shampoo, and of course fresh towels. In the room there was a tea and coffee selection with a kettle, and we even got some welcome biscuits, which was a really nice touch. Housekeeping came every day to refresh the room, change the towels, and restock anything we’d used – we were very pleased with that. The only small downside was that, as it’s an old building, the walls and ceiling are quite thin. So, if you happen to have noisier neighbours, it might affect your rest a bit. The hotel also has its own restaurant and a cosy bar. We had both breakfast and dinner there, and the food was well above average. We tried a few different dishes, and honestly, they were some of the best meals you can find in the area. We felt really lucky with that! The surroundings are stunning, and the hotel is in a great location – almost in the centre – so everything we wanted was within easy reach. In short: We chose this hotel carefully, and I have to say it exceeded all our expectations. The staff were very welcoming, the rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the food was delicious. What made our stay even more special was meeting Zoltán in the hotel bar – a truly kind person who quickly became a friend. From our very first day, we had several great conversations with him. His knowledge of language history was fascinating, and we really enjoyed listening to his insights about the local culture and many other interesting topics. We left with wonderful memories and are already planning to return to this lovely hotel.

Great little hotel! We got stranded in the highlands and had to book last minute. Stuart was wonderful and went out of his way to help us out and he gave us great dinner/live music/activity recommendations. The room was clean, well kept and comfortable. Honestly, could not have picked a better place!

The staff were the highlight of the hotel. I can't remember their names but the girl at the reception was extremely friendly and kind, and so were the waiters at the restaurant. We felt extremely taken cared of, and left feeling like we wished we booked another night here.

Paid walking tour of Fort William. Highlands Museum.

Paid walking tour of Fort William. Highlands Museum. Great shops. Very good food, including a family run bakery. Plenty of history to discover as this area was involved in the Commando training during Second World War in the 1940’s. Local people very friendly and helpful. Cafes and pubs for food.

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the Highlands and Islands! Mallaig is a port town and a gateway to do many other places. The accommodation at An Bothan was excellent. Home from home with so many special touches from the owners to make the stay even more comfortable. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for a short or longer stay in Mallaig.

Location is about 2.5 miles out of Morar. Morar is a lovely wee village. No shops only the Hotel which in our opinion was poor standards. That said we were there in November out of season . However for the price we would have expected better service and quality. Mallaig is lovely as is the surrounding area. We wont be back , sadly the hotel experience spoiled a very special birthday.

The “Cabin food stop”for breakfast was exceptional .on the main drag. It’s a steel container off the roadside. Great value. Little night life but Fort William is only 3 miles away. You can see the Hogwarts express ( the Jacobite steam train ),up close in several spots ,especially the entrance bridge at loch linne holiday park ,where it passes under it. Corpach is really a stop off point for your trip.

Very convenient for getting out to the highlands, a bit of a walk from Fort William town but walking is what you go there for, Ben Nevis is about a mile from Inverlochy and thats what counts,,, Try the Locky pub for good pub grub, massive platefuls and good wine, at reasonable prices,

Overall the house was fine but pity about state of property next door - quite offputting when first arriving. House relatively clean but could have been better. Rooms were a good size. Two adults felt the mattresses should be replaced. It would not take much TLC to lift the property - e.g. some painting, fixing gutter, improve back garden, fix bathroom tap, better cutlery, more informed Visitor pack. Overall, think it is best suited for climbers, walkers.

Arisaig is a small pretty village which is close enough to the Mallaig - Skye ferry to make it an ideal spot to stop before or after a trip to Skye. We had a great dinner at the Arisaig Hotel and would highly recommend it (food was great and service was friendly; would suggest booking a table ahead).

We did wish that we could have stayed longer in Banavie and we would certainly come back to explore more of the area especially if visiting Ben Nevis. Neptune's staircase was an unexpected pleasure and it was so picturesque. We viewed this from 'The Moorings hotel' where we also had a lovely meal. Will definitely return.

For the purpose of my visit, Fort William was central to the areas that I was requiring to go to. Within the town there was plenty of choice for dining and shopping facilities if required. For those who wish to visit local landmarks, such as the Glenfinnan viaduct, and monument, or the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge, or for the more adventurous hill walking around Glencoe, Fort William should be considered as a base to make your plans.
