Milford Haven having a small working harbour & marina is a nice relaxing area for a short break. There’s lots to explore nearby including Tenby & Saundersfoot and the Pembrokeshire countryside. Within the town is also a McDonald’s & Costa Coffee, so great for food & drink on the go. The marina adds a bit of interest with its few shops & restaurants overlooking it. Will definitely come back here…

Unlike some other coastal towns which essentially close down over the winter Saundersfoot was pleasantly busy. There are 7 restaurants/pubs open 7 days a week which is impressive for a small village, the ones we tried served very good food. Also 6 cafes for lunch or coffee/tea stops. The coastal path to Amroth is an easy 6 mile round trip on solid paths. The path west to Tenby is tougher and can be very wet and muddy. Buses are an easy way to get into Tenby or up to Haverfordwest for day trips.

Newport was recommended to us by several people. In spite of the wet weather we enjoyed our trip. Pretty village, interesting shops including Ffynnon, amazing selection of books, candles, art and much more. Great places to eat especially Lys Meddyg. Beaches nearby. A good place to visit, quiet and peaceful but it was early Autumn. I imagine it gets very busy in summer, but children would no doubt love it 😊
