Excellent location, friendly and attentive staff, amazing breakfast. Upon check-in, we were welcomed with a coffee and a delicious homemade cake, made with locally sourced ingredients. They also recommended us a route to do some hiking and to see some animals. Unfortunately we cannot comment on the dining restaurant because it was closed on the day we went. Perfect place for a getaway! We will definitely be back!

I loved all the common areas of this hotel, the lounge, the 2nd lounge /drawing room. So atmospheric and perfect for catching up with reading and writing letters, postcards etc. Staff were lovely and as enamored of the buildings history and heritage as we were. It was a very very restful place for us to stay after what was quite a challenging time (funeral)

I absolutely adored this place! I, unlike most, traveled without a car and it was just as easy to get to which was surprising. The vibe of the place is chill and everyone I met was super friendly. The room itself was gorgeous and comfortable, I felt so at home. Breakfast was 10/10. Bus stop and shops just a couple minutes walk and ponies not much further.

The room was perfect for our needs. The dining room was good but made excellent by the extended seating area on the terrace. The bar justified the property being called an inn. We had bar snacks, rather than dinner, all of which were good. The breakfast, which is included in the price, was very good. Finally, there is access by foot to a lovely woodland walk.

Great service and beautiful rooms. My partner and I stayed only one night at the hotel during our England bike tour, but we would gladly have stayed longer. The team let us store our bikes in the garden shed. It felt great to know our main means of transport would be safe for the night :) It was also brilliant to have a bathtub in the bathroom!

Very central in the forest. Near to ornamental drive and other forest walks. Lyndhurst not far and Lymington only 30 minutes away. In bad weather, Lymington has amazing art gallery - St Barre Gallery in New Street. Also the Russell Cotes Museum, Bournemouth with it's collection of art etc in a very Victorian setting.

We were disappointed that the pier ferry wasn't working but the pier and the train were very interesting - lots of plaques on the pier with interesting information and lots of inscriptions on the planks on the pier. The town was very nice - a surprising number of different shops in such a small area. The town centre and pier within very easy walking distance from the Boathouse hotel. Good meals served there with a good selection at reasonable prices.

Lovely private little apartment, only three of them so seems more personal, especially at breakfast, staff very friendly, room has all you need including little kitchenette, patio doors out to own little fenced garden with furniture, couple minutes and out on the open forest, great for walking the dog, plenty of ponies around, absolutely love it.Ate there each evening, lovely food, sat outside in undercover area in beer garden as it was quiet as it was just right for our new rescue dog.
