Everything was perfect, great location, spacious room - we stayed in Bull's Box which was part of a converted barn and contained everything we could possibly need. Breakfast was fresh local produce with plenty of choice and our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

We were in Louth for a highly specific reason: Thomas Kendall preached a sermon at St James Parish Church on 1st October 1536, that kicked off the Lincolnshire Rising in protest against Thomas Cromwell's depredations. This quickly led to the Pilgrimage of Grace, across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Durham and Cumbria. Thomas Kendall was executed at Tyburn in March 1537 for his 'treason'.

Lovely small town, great community feel.

Lovely small town, great community feel. Cute small shops selling antiques, two pubs, bakery and a few tea shops and cafes. Just check times when closed as a lot of places locally closed Monday and Tuesday. Beaches nearby beautiful and sandy. We really liked Sutton-on-Sea.

Pretty village with a very old church.

Pretty village with a very old church. Very pleasant to walk around. Nice countryside. If you have business in Grimsby/Cleethorpes or just want a spot thats less travelled this is an excellent place to stay. Reasonably easy to drive to Market Rasen for the racecourse or Cadwell Park for the motor racing. Also easy to get to Louth an excellent Georgian market town well worth a day out.

This pub is over 500 years old, the atmosphere is indescribable, I felt like I was in the frame of the movie, wooden beams experienced by time that saw so many wonderful moments, the smell of the fireplace and soft light soothing my soul, the roosters woke me up in the morning which only reminded me me my childhood. A real Pole in a real English pub

An interesting regional market town with lovely countryside around in the Lincolnshire wolds and lots of history in the local area and beyond, including Lincoln of course. Some good restaurants and pubs plus a museum, theatre, etc, and good access to the coast.

Alford is a useful central point for the area.

Alford is a useful central point for the area. It's quite a pretty village but has definitely seen better days. Very few paces to eat and even the ones that were open, it was hit and miss if they were serving food on the day you wanted it. Granted it may be better during school holiday and peak times. The manor house tea rooms is good.
