The Red Lion is located right on the harbour at Clovelly. Our room was perfectly positioned on the 2nd floor to capture the 180 degree view across the harbour, out to sea and further down the coast. Our room was very spacious, the bed and pillows were super comfortable, comfortable armchairs and coffee table in the bay window allowed us to sit comfortably with a cup of tea (not on the bed) and take in the views. The bay window had opening doors (great for enjoying fresh air!!) onto a large balcony, so we had the choice to sit in or outside. The bathroom was lovely with a very large shower, with a wall niche so that we had somewhere to put our toiletries, soap, etc. These little things really make the difference when you're staying away from home and we really appreciated their attention to detail and practicality. The food in the restaurant and bar was very enjoyable and breakfasts were cooked to our liking (loved the Eggs Benedict with perfectly cooked poached eggs!!). Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We rated our stay 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. A big shout out to the staff, as they are the best feature of the hotel. The pools, the spa, the cinema room, comfortable bedding and Sticky Toffee Pudding! The staff at reception and restaurant are very friendly and polite..every single one of them!! Nothing is ever too much for them. We were even offered to use the spa post check out. The rooms are nice and decent size, with comfortable bed and stunning views across the bay. We were lucky with the weather so, spent an entire afternoon at the outdoor pool. The indoor pool and spa area was great too. However, the highlight remains the cinema room, which you can book for a private viewing. The Sticky Toffee Pudding definitely deserves a shout!

Wonderful location. Right next to Croyde beach. Really enjoyed the facilities, there were plenty of games to choose from. Everything we needed was there. It's an ideal spot for families and we were a collection of families and were able to mix very comfortably. I liked that you could easily hire surf gear also, and that the lovely village is walking distance.

Parking in Exeter is absolutely extortionate - it would be fine if the council put on decent public transport but they don't; the park and ride is miles out which a very hit-and-miss bus service which you still have to pay for, other buses are not entirely reliable and there is no park and ride when coming from any direction other than the M5. Shopping in Exeter is no different to any other medium-sized town, the same range of chain shops mostly and John Lewis is small. There is a good choice of restaurants, bars and cafes with a mixture of chain and independent. The Quay is a must-visit area, if all you see is the cathedral area then you've missed out.

Exmouth is an attractive town - the prom and beach was beautiful on the sunny day on which we were lucky to visit. There are scenic rail journeys, accessible without use of the car, that we would have liked to ride on but we weren't there long enough this time. The event we attended at the Pavilion - the reason for our visit - was excellent as was the meal we had in the Pavilion before the show.

A superb waterside town with good local shops and amenities. The location feels safe and has a good selection of restaurants and bars to suit most pockets. Accommodation is going to be expensive compared to some other locations, but you get what you pay for (or at least you pay for what you get). Try to sort out car parking before you go - the big problem for Dartmouth is finding somewhere safe and convenient to leave your vehicle.

Sidmouth is a delightful coastal town that exceeded our expectations. The high street offers a excellent range of diverse shops - refreshingly different from the usual chain stores you find elsewhere, with plenty of independent boutiques and specialist retailers. The natural scenery is outstanding. The beach and clifftop walks provide superb views along the Jurassic Coast, and there are numerous well-maintained walking routes around the town for all abilities. It's the perfect base for anyone who enjoys getting out on foot. Despite its compact size, Sidmouth punches well above its weight. The town has a good cinema and some truly great restaurants offering varied cuisine. Parking was straightforward to find, which made exploring stress-free. Overall, Sidmouth strikes a lovely balance - it's compact enough to navigate easily on foot, yet offers plenty to see, do and enjoy. We'd thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing break with quality amenities and stunning coastal surroundings.

Have been to Teignmouth before, several years ago. The beach front has been improved. The pier is a bit old and tatty. Some areas are run down. Lots of pubs. The Ship served lovely food at affordable prices. The beach is a mix of red sand and pebbles. The harbour area is a mix of industrial and leisure activities. There is a handy passenger ferry across to Sheldon.

We enjoyed our visit to the beautiful serene Buckfast Abbey and the Christmas Fair. The location of the Inn alongside the River Dart is spoilt by the close proximity of both the Totnes Road and the Devon Expressway. Its facilities are poor with a hot, dry atmosphere which, alongside the road noise, we found made sleeping uncomfortable.
