Everything! This property is in a great location. Our room large offering plenty of space for my morning yoga’s routine. We enjoyed all the facilities the props had to offer and there were plenty of them! Pool, spa x2, steam room and sauna. Breakfast was delicious and great service. All the staff were friendly yet efficient. I would highly recommend staying at Ambleside Salutation if you are visiting the Lakes District. We loved our stay here!

I usually visit Carlisle every year, plenty of coffee shops and restaurants and pubs also mixture of names shops and individual shops. Trains station is handy to hotels and Carlisle castle and Cathedral. Christmas stalls near to Xmas. Pleasant place for a day or two to visit. People are very friendly.

The area was mostly fine.

The area was mostly fine. In some areas the town was looking tired. Absence of any visible street cleaning. We must have passed an area where someone had let their dog foul the pavement at least eight times as we walked up and down to our guest house and back down towards the lake I know it’s individual dog owners where the responsibility lies but even so it’s a big tourist area So one would expect a bit more pride in the area Unfortunately we won’t be rushing back to visit

The scenery in this area is fantastic.

The scenery in this area is fantastic. If you are a keen photographer you will be spoilt for choices. Not just at Windermere, but the surrounding towns, lakes, and walks. These include Windermere, Kendal / Derwent Water and Rydal, etc. Bowness has a good selection of places to eat and drink during the day and evening. The town also has a good selection of shops which include well known names and brands.

I like Keswick because it has a lively atmosphere and market in the heart of the city. In addition to hiking and walking around the mountains and countryside, you can also enjoy trips to the other towns including Cockermouth, Grasmere, Kendal, Windermere, and Ambleside etc. People are kind and helpful with directions and transportation. The Pencil Museum is a nice and cozy place where you enjoy yourself and learn a lot about Keswick and the Lake Disctrict. The public transportation is convenient, but sometime is late due to traffic and trouble with the buses. Keswick is fascinating and wonderful for anybody as well as for family with kids. Last but not least, dogs are happy and free to enjoy the nature with their human companions as well.

Ambleside is a beautiful place and we cannot wait to visit again. There are plenty of independent shops and eating places. We ate at Dodds which was really good and would definitely recommend. Walking around Ambleside on an evening felt extremely safe. Also traffic appeared to flow very well, although it is worth noting that there is a one way system in place.

We enjoyed the stay at Haven holiday park but the private caravan was shocking, dirty, dusty, carpets filthy, oven dirty with used crockery still in there , no towels at all , bedding thrown on beds inside out & couldn’t really tell if they had been washed , no tv remote so our two small grandchildren couldn’t watch tv , we tried to contact the owner a number of times but he didn’t answer so can assume he didn’t care, this was the last van available on our dates , I had read the bad reviews & took the chance not expecting it to be has bad as it is , I feel Haven should not allow this caravan to be let
