We liked everything about this hotel. We paid extra for the SUPERIOR room, you get an extra sofa bed if needed. The room was of a good size, bathroom as expected, with a shower over the bath. The room was quiet and warm The TV & WiFi were great. The breakfast was EXCELLENT, English & Welsh Breakfast options. The evening restaurant was very enjoyable, but lacking in atmosphere due to its size. The breakfast room had great views across open countryside. This is a very nice hotel, and YES we would rebook as it's so good, an amazing find in such a beautiful location, easy for the ferry ports, shopping and access to the midlands etc.

Amazing place to stay. The owners Bec and Pete were super friendly and welcoming. They have a cool games room downstairs with pool and darts. The building itself is charming and had some nice ales on tap Great value for money and good advice given on where to grab food in town. Room was clean and comfortable... Do yourself a favour and stay here! Original old building that’s been tastefully updated - great bathroom with lovely products, comfy couch and bed, garden view, good lighting, connectivity and plenty of good coffee/tea etc. Hosts friendly and helpful. Restaurant downstairs is delightful and served best food we’ve had in UK. Lovely countryside, good pub just down the road. Best place we’ve stayed. Loved it. 😊

The room was larger and very comfortable. The walk-in shower was wonderful…hot and great water preasure. The air conditioning as an added bonus as I didn’t realise the hotel had it. The breakfasts were always lovely, hot and well stocked. The area was very easy to walk into the town centre and very safe.

Carmarthen itself I love, although there's been a lot of changes since I last came down 25 years ago(which is to be expected!). It's still an interesting town centre with a great variety of shops while still retaining a lot of its character and history through it's architecture and inhabitants. The Carmarthenshire countryside is stunning!

Apart from this all was lovely. No hoover available or area to wash your dishes but we made do with shower and hand wash basin so not a problem

It was a good centre for visiting Carmarthenshire, the Gower or the Brecon Beacons. Lots of castles and gardens nearby. Lots of places within about an hour. There were some independent shops in the town, and some nice bars and lunch places, but the Cawdor was the best choice in the evening

It is a lovely place with an ancient castle which has things going on in the year. However, there is little to entertain you after a day or so. the walks around the area are lovely, but you need to be fit, some are very up and down.

We have always liked Newcastle Emlyn.

We have always liked Newcastle Emlyn. The prople are very friendly and there are plenty of shops and places to eat. Harrison's, in my opinion, does the best brunch around. You can also find good food at the Bunch of Grapes a little further down the road. Our favorite Indian is Moe's Spice but you could also try Moonlight Indian. There are also 2 Chinese takeaway restaurants, Super Garden, which is more central, and China Kitchen. You are only about 15 miles to the coast town of Cardigan and the Cardigan Bay area. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area but we generally go for the coastal drives and interesting places along te way.

We chose staying in St Clears as a base to visit the local coast such as Wisemans Bridge, Amroth, Tenby and others. We know the area well & could also suggest Tenby which is more busy. There are also boat trips the the island if Caldy, nice with older children. Enjoy West Wales, we always find the people are so warm & welcoming. We go most years.

A small seaside village but offering a few places to eat and drink. Breakfast at Bistro on the Bay and dinner at The Springwell we’re both lovely. We fell in love with Burry Port last year when we stayed to locate a future area to retire to, we had never heard of Burry Port before and instantly fell in love with it and the surrounding area, Pembrey Park is also nearby and is a must to visit. The coast path runs through Burry Port and is used by cyclists runners and walkers alike. Burry Port also has a train station which runs through to Bristol. Also Amelia Earhart landed in Burry Port harbour, first woman to fly across the Atlantic. Well worth a visit. We are now moving to retire nearby so Burry Port will be on our doorstep.

If you are staying for 1 night or a week this accommodation would meet your needs. Nestled in a stunning little village it is a perfect place to relax enjoy great food and drink and the wonderfull breakfast will set you up for whatever your day will bring. Compliments to the new owners whom are entering into a new venture and have the great enthusiasm to make your stay truly unforgettable. I would recommend anyone visiting this area to give these hosts your business you will not be disappointed in what they have to offer. I will certainly be making this my base for any of my future visits.
