This Hotel is a gem and we have really enjoyed our stay. The Restaurant is a recommendation too because the food is delicious. Only the red wine card could be a bit more sophisticated. Breakfast is served via a buffet but it is possible to order full Scottish breakfast or every type of eggs.

We had a great stay in the New Inn Hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, our room was clean and spacious, and parking was good and easy. We felt very welcome, as did our dogs. We were very pleased that we were able to bring the dogs with us for a meal in the pub in the evening, and also for breakfast in the morning. The food was great, both the pub meals, as well as breakfast. The location in the town centre, by the river was perfect for us.

Fabulous setting and approach, with splendid main building and separate annex, exceptionally well refurbished stone buildings, with a welcoming open log fire in the hall of the main building. The breakfasts and evening meals are excellent quality and menu, seating in the restaurant gives splendid view over the gardens and beyond. Another Scottish town that's looking and feeling the effects of an ageing infrastructure and a lack of investment. Shopping and eating from restaurants is a very hard-to-navigate one-way system that's not user-friendly if you're unfamiliar with the area.

We went to Ballater to be close to Balmoral Castle, where we went to an artisans market on the grounds. We were there in October, so opening of other parts of the castle were not available, due to royal residence use. I would return to this beautiful part of Scotland again if given the chance, to see more of the castle.

Stonehaven is a lovely friendly town, with good facilities and wonderful scenery. There is a great working harbour and lovely cliff walks, south to Dunnottar Castle and north up to Skaty Shore etc. Via the Slug Road inland there is good access to Royal Deeside, or north to Aberdeen. Down the coast going south there are so many lovely fishing villages as well as views of good farmland with the Grampians in the background.

Banchory is an above average Scottish town, it has some nice shops and coffee rooms. There are nearby attractions, a Castle, garden centre, The Bridge of Feugh where the Salmon leap. Aberdeen and Balmoral are not too far away.

We stayed in the gilmore suite for 2 nights. The view was stunning, the room was stunning and everything was overall stunning. We had a meal in the hotel as well and the meal was incredible. I had the steak and my partner had the mixed grill. It was cooked to perfection. Can't thank the staff enough for their warm welcome. Would stay here again.

Feeling safe,comfortable, very helpful staff, safe free parking,great breakfast (one of the very best experience in a multiple chain hotel). Lovely little shopping premises with some exceptional shops - gifts, pet requirements,essentials and food outlets if required. Close to bus stop if wish to use public service for accessing city. Just off th A944 with easy access to amazing countryside to the west of city and direct route into city if wish to use own transport.

Maryculter was a quiet respite after a long day's drive and visits to distilleries. It is a picturesque setting along the banks of a lovely stream and small views of a golf course on the other side of the river. Clean, comfortable, nice restaurant on the premises so we did not have to venture out. Lovely all around.

Fraserburgh is a fishing town with a long heritage and...

Fraserburgh is a fishing town with a long heritage and history, there are interesting places to visit in the town and surrounding area making it a good base for exploring this part of Buchan. The town centre is a bit run down as are some of, what led to be its more vibrant bars , but don't let this put you off staying. There are some hidden gems if you are prepared to venture out and about. Visits to the lighthouse museum and (once it reopens) the heritage centre are a must as is walks around to Broadsea, a traditional fishing village now part of the town, and the beach is spectacular. The harbour is busy so take care when going there but it is worth a look at the impressive fishing vessels. The beach cafe is a great place for lunch and you can't go wrong with fish and chips from the many chip shops. I could write more but go and check it out for yourself.

This very nice, quiet town has a castle ruin and river walk . I would recommend a visit to The Coffee Apothecary on 21 The Square if you are into your coffee and want the and want the best coffee house in the area. Overall, a good place to visit and very friendly people
