The hotel was really well decorated, the room (suite) was gorgeous with two full bathrooms and a living room. The espresso machine and the water bottles greatly appreciated. The location was awesome, walking distance to every interesting spot in Chablis. The breakfast was very good and the terrace table has a beautiful views of the vineyards. The air conditioning worked really well too.

The Relais des Saints Peres is right in the centre of Auxerre in a beautiful building. The whole place is bright and appealing, nicely decorated, spacious rooms, comfortable bed. A great breakfast and a warm and helpful welcome from Sophie. Absolutely recommend it.

We visited with a group of friends for 3 days, which allowed...
We visited with a group of friends for 3 days, which allowed us to see the town centre, the quays and the medieval buildings in Auxerre, but also to visit the cellars of Bailly Lapierre and taste their sparkling wine, the medieval chateau of St Fargeau, the village St Sauveur and the cute town of Chablis.
Lots of day trips available, especially if you have a car.
The town was very pretty, and the sunshine on the river was a bonus, coming from a damp Paris.
A short trip from Paris with lots of options and visits nearby.

Chablis seemed to be a town where people come to have an expensive meal and drink some fine wine. The town did not have many or any bistros, only high end restaurants that were totally booked on the night we were in town. Hence our dinner consisted of a charcuterie board at a local bar. I highly recommend reserving dinner in advance before visiting this town.

Tonnerre as a town or destination offers almost nothing - it...
Tonnerre as a town or destination offers almost nothing - it has the Fosse and an interesting old church, but that's it.
However, it is close to other towns such as Auxerre, Chablis, and attractions such as Chateau Tanlay.

The area was lovely but do not stay at domaine bourgnat..they are hopeless and very arrogant, full of promises but rubbish! you can find far better places to stay trust me....a great shame because it could have been so so much better.

A hotel on the waterfront, Hotel Maxime, a lovely old, quaint, medieval town with quality shops, a delicious meal at Chez Maxim, altogether a delightful stay. We were only there for one night but wished we’d been able to stay longer and explore more.

We had a congress close to the hotel. So we didn't stay beyond 1 night. We had dinner there.
Suggestion : also visit Noyers s/ Serein, not far away, medieval city. Very nice !
ATT : if you join the A6 from Noyers, you can only go south. Impossible to go back north. GPS's know. They are aware of this stupidity.

Lovely walks down by the river and up to the church. Walking down was easier but taking time to walk up is the answer. Some excellent restaurants and bars. Nice atmosphere in the town and we didn’t feel on edge at all. Some pleasant shops to browse.

Sweet little town.
Sweet little town. An afternoon and a night there was enough for us. We found a great little restaurant for dinner and a very helpful and obliging lady in a wine shop. We came across a 12th. Century synagogue, but unfortunately it's only open once a year in July (we were there in June).
