In Monaco, we were very satisfied with the hotel, the room with a balcony and the free upgrade, as well as the gift of a bottle of wine for my husband’s birthday. The staff is very friendly, always ready to help and assist guests. We especially thank Michaela who was at the reception. The hotel has a wonderful location and boutique, modern furnishings.

This was one of the nicest little hotels I've stayed in - bed was comfortable, staff were wonderful (its a family owned place) and the location was perfect, steps from the bus and train that takes you all over the Cote d'Azur. Air conditioning as it was very warm. A market on Saturday just outside. The loveliest beaches too. There are a variety of cafes for a morning coffee and a bakery with lovely croissants and sandwiches steps away, also a supermarket. I can't rave about this hotel enough - I'll definitely be back soon! Merci Joëlle et l'équipe!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are small but there is everything you need and more! If they don't have it, they will organize it for you. There is free water and cookies in the reception, they offer a choice of pillows, parking at a good price, great location and lovely views of the Notre Dame. They even rent beach towels and have organised trips to other towns. Highly recommended!!

FAQs about hotels in French Riviera

Sunshine, Stunning Scenery and Celebrities

The French Riviera (or Côte d'Azur) boasts mountain backdrops, beautiful beaches and palm-lined promenades. It’s a year-round favourite of artists and celebrities - maybe the reason why, of French Riviera hotels, 5-star properties are high in number.

Several are in exclusive Saint Tropez with its pristine beach and marina full of expensive yachts. Boats cross the bay’s turquoise waters to the Blue Flag beaches of Sainte Maxime, and Port Grimaud, overlooked by Grimaud castle.

Le Lavandou has a wonderful beach and marina, while Fréjus has a waterpark, and neighbouring Saint Raphaël’s promenade and coastline are dominated by the Esterel Massif. Famous for its glitzy film festival, Cannes spans a wide bay and has designer shops and grand villas. Protected by a sea wall to the east, Antibes has a Picasso museum in its castle.

Nice is the Riviera’s largest city and Nice Airport is France’s 3rd busiest. Known for the Promenade des Anglais and large squares, it houses most Cote d’Azur hotels on the beach on Booking.com. Next door Villefranche-sur-Mer has brightly coloured façades at the water’s edge and is separated by a promontory from dramatically located Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

The region’s most easterly town is Menton, at the foot of the Alps, while glamorous Monaco is home to an F1 Grand Prix, and a world-famous casino and royal family.

I paid for the room and my reservation was accepted.

I paid for the room and my reservation was accepted. I arrived around 11:00 PM, but the host did not answer my calls. Eventually, he told me that the room was not clean. If the room was not clean, I don’t understand why my reservation was accepted in the first place. When I asked for a refund, he refused and told me to contact Booking. He was disrespectful and left me outside at 11:00 PM in complete darkness. He also spoke to me in a threatening manner. I have already filed a complaint about him, but unfortunately Booking never followed up, which is very disappointing. The most disrespectful part was that he clearly saw me from the window and still refused to let me in. I strongly believe he was selectively refusing guests, and I felt discriminated against. I strongly advise people not to stay at this place. Based on my experience, it felt unsafe and unprofessional.

Monte Carlo is lovely city to visit.

Monte Carlo is lovely city to visit. Metro makes easy access to places like Eze which is close by. People who want to test their luck with casino, you have one of the worlds largest Casino. Shopping is not that easy, felt super expensive. If you like brand shopping then you will fall in love with the city. Although we could not, but if you get chance do plan to attend the guard change that take place at Prince's Palace of Monaco

The most beautiful city in south France - we enjoyed it more than Nice or anything else. Great gelato (Demontis Gelateria Artigianale - this was the best gelato we have ever had), great sea (we recommend going to the Plage des Sablettes - clean water, free, showers available, a little bit noisy but great view and near the restaurants etc.), great food (Pizz’Addict - possibly the best pizza we've ever had), great people and oh, the city itself is amazing, it has a great vibe. We would love to come again!

I could see us staying in Beausoleil for a longer period in the future. The local markets are fantastic and we did lots of shopping there. We have been staying in Monaco for 15 years almost every year and in the Beausoleil side and have been very happy with the distance to places. Lots of stairs though if that's an issue. Morning traffic in the shopping district is enjoyable to watch and the lifts take you to the beach in 5 minutes.

Antibes still has some of the flavour of a real town on the French Riviera, as described by Graham Greene so many years ago now. We go again and again. Come in the off-season though. Yesterday (November) the sun was shining, we had our lunch out-of-doors in the warmth, the sea shimmered and the early snow could be seen on the Alps.

Enjoyed swimming, walking along the sea front and the ports and having coffee overlooking the sea front. Didn’t really see the uphill historic part, which I regret. The Tourist office at Saint Raphael was helpful as I needed a bus timetable. I’d say you need to be reasonably fit ( or have a car) to stay in the area I was in as in fact buses were few and far between so I did a lot of walking. I was on an Interrail pass so also enjoyed a little side trip out to Nice, which has good and frequent rail links with Saint Raphael.

Not much around other than bars and restaurants which were mostly Italians and the others sold pizza and pasta! Beaches are all pebbled so we went to the private beach clubs to get sunbeds (different prices at each one, so check before booking) or maybe look at buying a deckchair or sunlounger at a local shop, it will definitely br cheaper. Highly recommend the Pennetti Pizza Club on the promenade and Pauls patisserie. Train station easy to get to and trains very reliable and tickets are well priced. We booked each day through thr trainline app.

Location, location, location one of our favourite places in the world. It was great to return, after several years, to the village where we had previously owned an apartment. Le Neapolis restaurant is (still) a great place to eat at any time of day - Oliver and his staff ever attentive, treated us as if we had never been away! Getting around easy with local buses and trains serving the local area and further afield up and down the coast. Numerous Beach kiosks provide good value food and beverages for sun worshipers. Just a superb place to visit.
