The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. As an example we were provided with lunch on one day as we had missed the restaurants in town due to the weather. The room was comfortable and very clean. The restaurant staff were also excellent and the food was delicious. Nothing was too much - thoroughly recommend

While on a bike tour through France we stopped at this great hotel and very much enjoyed our stay. The family-run whole hotel (rooms, reception area, restaurant, terrace) is lovely and stylishly decorated. The owners were super friendly and welcoming. They even helped cleaning our bikes and prepared us a picnic the next day. We booked half-board (breakfast and dinner) and the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Ideal also for vegetarians. We can only recommend this hotel.

We slept 4 nights in the tent, and the choice was unforgettable. It's very cozy, the beaches are exceptional and you can choose daily to enjoy the sea elsewhere. Discovering the island by bike is wonderful! The voice of the sea is special when you sleep in the tent and that vacation vibe when you spend the day in nature is what makes the experience unforgettable. It's far for me, but I think I will come back!!!

The location is ideal, with direct access to the beach via the forest path. The room is comfy, and the bathroom is very spacious, with two sinks. The small terrace get some nice shade from the property trees and it is equipped with long chairs to relax after a day at the beach. The staff is kind and very helpful.

We went mainly for the La Bonnotte potato festival, which was good fun, and the potatoes are indeed delicious. But as the island is almost completely flat (fabulous for cycling) we hadn't expected a beautiful coastline and beaches. And although it was beautiful weather the beaches were almost deserted. Let's hope it remains relatively undiscovered.

Total peace and natural beauty.

Total peace and natural beauty. It’s a small village alongside endless beaches —- an escape into a much simpler world. A French way of life that reminded us of the way life used to be! (mid September and a lovely sunny 21 degrees most days). Sea and swimming pool every day.

Beautiful holiday island with amazing beaches and swimming. Cycle-friendly and lots of eateries especially oysters and mussels. Lots of places to visit if beaches are not enough ie, salt marshes, castles, crazy golf, escape rooms, antique shops and galleries.

Being selfish, I do not want to recommend Noirmoutier-en-l'Ile to others! The locals were unusually welcoming (a change from the South), the views around the island were panoramic and the food and drink left nothing to be desired. The island was free of litter and the pride which the locals take in it was obvious. It felt very secure. With a large dog a car was necessary, otherwise, everyone appeared to swap their cars for bicycles which were in plentiful supply on their arrival. The land being mostly flat, bicycling was the way to go for the young and old.
