A perfect stopover, only a few kilometres from the motorway en route from Switzerland to the Dordogne. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were lovely and the restaurant was excellent for dinner. The food was really exceptional and the Service great. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, peaceful and calm, with a lovely walk around the fishing lake.

A modern, tastefully renovated manor house. 5 bedrooms. Our room looked out over fields and farms. Peaceful! The manager and the two staff we met were delightful - ready to please. Breakfast was a feast. We took the a la carte evening menu- rather than one of the ‘menus’. The food was exceptional. Wonderful ambiance. The dining room was full; and, as we were the only hotel guests, the diners had obviously come for the dining experience. Truly an evening to remember.

We stopped here for a night on our way up through France. What a find! We loved everything, spacious comfortable bedroom, an exceptional meal, and the staff were very friendly. Lovely walks from the property, perfect for stretching the legs before our onward journey. Delicious breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My expectations were relatively low, I expected just a motel near a highway, but actually it was more than that. Ladies at the reception and generally all the staff was extremely nice and helpful, rooms were clean and the main public area was nice. Breakfast was also good and overall convenience, including location very near the highway exit/entrance was ideal for transit guests.

• Everything! What a great experience. We didn't expect much as it looks a bit like a Motel from the outside, but were pleasantly surprised. • Room: Very clean room and nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. • Check-in/out: Awesome times. We checked in at 9:30 PM, and didn't have to check out until 12 PM. It was the first time on our road trip where we could sleep and not worry about missing check-out times! • Staff: The man on the counter had was working his 3rd day and yet was so professional and nice, great English skills and overall just amazing. • Location: It's not in the center, but the city is so small that the drive to the city is 3 minutes only and there is free parking everywhere, so we found the location to be perfect. No noise as far as we were concerned. • Value for money: best in France.

We had a lovely night staying at here, we stopped on our journey down south. The room was clean and comfortable - excellent value for money. We had dinner in the restaurant which was one of our favourite meals so far, and breakfast was all local produce from the farm. The owners were so friendly and helpful! We would definitely return!

Everything was beyond our expectations! The place so beautiful and peaceful. The staff very nice. We've stayed at the tree house with the spa and it was simply amazing! Our kids also loved it! The restaurant at the castle was very good too! Highly recommend it and we'll definitely come back!

The bed bugs. toilet paper . I made 3 separate booking .You have to buy your own Toilet paper .room cleaning is extra charge .If I booked 3 times in separate occasions they must be doing the bed and give the cleaned room to me no matter its same room . I paid full price .There was a bug at the window and Room220 is right at the road where Tram runs 24 hours almost .Christina is very rude so be firm with her .The rest of girls are really nice and speaks some English.Christina does not know English at all .She should not be working at a hotel where mostly Foreigners stays .

It is a nice place if you're looking for a cheap and quiet place, getting to the property is a bit challenging, the stairs are very unsafe, The bathroom has no windows or extractor fan. extremely hot bathroom because of the water heating system, But a huge apartment with huge rooms. clean kitchen and bedrooms, I will give this property 5 stars because of the location and shopping stores in the area. Parking is free if you're lucky enough to have one. Nice view of the canal from our bedroom window.

Was there to watch Scotland take on France at Rugby - a very friendly city with so many locals keen to ensure we had a great time, joined in with festivities and loved the atmosphere. A very safe and welcoming city !! The main square is surrounded by restaurants and bars, quality food and plenty of atmosphere. Found the tram system excellent - no issues in buying tickets and using to get to stadium. Saint Victor, a historic, medieval village and tourist spot with beach and boat cruises on Loire just 15 mins by car from City Inn hotel. Enjoyed a very relaxing day here, nice pace of life and again, very friendly !!

I stayed in Roanne for a couple of days to see the town but...

I stayed in Roanne for a couple of days to see the town but also to see some of the sights in the surrounding Roannais area, This is the middle of France with many different kinds of scenery, from mountains to river gorges and with lots of history to see that is part of everyday life for people who live in this area. Roanne is a good base for a leisurely touring holiday as well as for a cycling or walking holiday.

This is a tired sad town that is doing its best to put on a good presence for visitors - every local I spoke to was very pleasant and welcoming, which was very nice. The art museum was closed on my visit and there was nothing else that intrigued me to devote time/energy. There are very few places to eat after 10pm outside of fast food. I was here for a rugby match and the stadium experience was excellent, especially the bistro on the top level of the stade which is necessary to reserve ahead of time (note they only serve pizza and burgers after the match, so if you want a proper dinner book before the game). Streets are very dark at night for walking, this might frighten a lot of visitors; but the city seems to be safe, even if it is offputting to have to use your cell phone light to walk down a sidewalk and to hear voices of people you cannot see in the dark .

I can’t tell you anything about the city I stopped to go to sleep on a long motorway trip I get out at a restaurant round the corner the staff are very friendly the people sat at the restaurant were friendly it felt fine
