Me, my wife and our dog stayed here for 2 nights. We sent a message saying we would only arrive around 3 a.m. due to traveling and at around 1 a.m. we got a call from the Hotel asking if everything was ok, if we needed help/support for anything, and if we wanted something to eat once we arrived. I must say this was by far the best service we have ever had (and we stay mainly in 5-star hotels around the world). Once we arrived check-in was super quick to allow us to go to our room and get some sleep. The bedroom was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We loved the fact that we actually had 2 different types of pillows on the bed, one soft and one a bit harder. Usually, you get the same type of pillow and if you want something different you have to ask for it. The location is amazing. Just 20 mins by car from Montpellier (that we wanted to visit) and the restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) faces the beach. It's super quiet and isolation is perfect. During dinner, there's some music but from the bedroom (on the 1st floor) we didn't hear anything. The pool is also facing the beach and super chilled and relaxed. We didn't have the chance to try the breakfast but we had dinner at the restaurant. Must say the food is really good and priced fairly. The restaurant was full of both guests and locals, so that says it all. The beach in front doesn't allow dogs but there's a nearby beach (10 mins by car) which allows. We definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxed stay, near the beach and still near enough from Montpellier. We were absolutely thrilled that we ended up staying here instead of staying in Montpellier Can't thank enough all the staff during our stay, both day and night staff.

The bedroom was spacious with a large, comfortable bed and incredibly soft bedding, ensuring a great night's sleep. Transportation via bus and tram is very easy, and the weather is lovely during the winter since I like rains. The people here are friendly and welcoming. However, I had a poor experience using the website to buy a tram ticket. I paid 20 Euros online, but due to a poor connection, I never received the ticket—even though the money was deducted from my bank account. I contacted the transport company regarding this issue, but I have not yet received a response.

Why would a hotel have a key system that needs a visual instruction to operate. It doesn’t make sense. I have stayed all over the world and never had to be shown at the front desk on mini replica of a door , how to operate the lock system. Confusing and annoying as we were tired and just wanted to go to our room with a normal key system. And parking . We had to get up early as the public parking we were directed to next door , you had to be out of by 9am or our car would be towed. Booked thinking we would get parking , as it is advertised. But told it was full upon arrival. However later that night we spoke to two guests who had just parked their cars in the hotel car park !! Spoiled our stay as we had to rush to retrieve our car by 9am at the public car park we were told to use.

Lots of history to look into, from Roman times through middle ages to now; some very nice restaurants; Les Halles is a great market; nice ambiance, cafés etc. Favorite spots - the cathedral and archbishops' palace, Les Halles, Narbo Via (fascinating), along the canals. Restos - En Face, Chez Lulu, Les Halles. Very walkable smaller town. Good base for visiting the area, Carcassonne, Sète, Gruissan etc. It was cold in November and people said Narbonne is known for wind, we packed our snuggies

The best thing for me was the Eglise de la Madeleine, which is ravishing in its simplicity, dignity and history; and the art trail, which were great finds. I liked the cafes and fountains in the Place Jean Jaure, the belle epoch architecture, the bookshops, and the flower market, as well as the cartoons rather romantically depicting moments in the town's history. On this occasion, I wish I had one more day to walk the canal and spend time down at the Fonseranne Loch - it might have given me a bit of a different impression of the town, which I felt had an uncomfortably stark and divided sense between poor and wealthy areas, which I understand is reflected politically.

Beautiful long beach, with good access to restaurants.

Beautiful long beach, with good access to restaurants. There is large Marina and surf boarders were enjoying the waves. (December) Days were beautiful, sun shone and warm clothes were required. It was a very quiet place which I imagine is much more bustling in Summer. People are very friendly and our experience of food and drink was good. We thought the buildings all along the front were mostly very tired looking. We ate at the Christmas fayre in the centre and La Plage Gourmand both of which were great,

Font Romeu was made as a sporting resort in the 1920s.

Font Romeu was made as a sporting resort in the 1920s. Odeillo further down the hill was the original village. Because of the benefits of the healthy air, originally Font Romeu was used as a place to treat patients with breathing problems. That no longer is the case. Now it is a ski resort and also a summer destination. The views are spectacular and the skiing is augmented by many snow cannons. There are also many rambling routes. There are restaurants and shops but these are quite seasonal and often closed in low season. Font Romeu is also a good base from which to visit local towns and villages, also lakes and even the sea, either in France or, slightly further afield in Northern Spain.

Montpellier is great for short or longer breaks.

Montpellier is great for short or longer breaks. Always plenty to see or do. The old town brims & buzzes with a tempting choice of cafes, bars & independent restaurants to suit all budgets, of usually excellent quality. Also an amazing choice of beautiful boutiques, fashion, good old fashioned toy & game shops etc. all housed in ancient stone buildings. Recommend Tomate Resto on Rue St Anne. Cosy, 3 course menu €25, individual dishes from €17. Fish & vegetarian options . All home cooked & delicious.
