Great hotel in the very center of the town. Very nice and welcoming staff. We even regretted a bit we stayed only 2 nights, but the size of the town does not foster for a longer stay as a tourist.

The apartment was beautifully designed and lovingly furnished. It lacked nothing. Our host Joelle was exceptionally attentive yet discreet. We accepted the breakfast offer; the pancakes were such a treat ! We thought the location on the edge of the old town and adjacent to parking was ideal.

Everything! The house are grounds were beautiful with welcoming festive decorations, our room was magnificent, historic defied and detail, very comfortable and warm, with spacious proportions and outlook over the back gardens, the La Rotonde bar and winter garden stunning place for cosy aperitif each night and where we enjoyed a quality glass of champagne on arrival which the staff kindly welcomed us with on arrival. The breakfast was wonderful - served to your table with really good variety of cold and warm dishes. Beautiful fresh pastries and bread each day baked on the property. The property is literally across the road of both Veuve Cliquot and Pommery champagne houses and a pleasant walk into the town centre. Easy drive to Epernay and Hautvilleur. Great Brasserie on site also! We can’t wait to revisit!!

Once you have done "your classics in Reims" from the Cathedral to Champagne tasting ... I went the " Boulingrin quarter" of Reims .. the "Market Place " .. with a gorgeous French atmosphere and really nice restaurants ... from Brasserie to Gastronomy choices .. or just strolling and have an excellent croissant breakfast.

An extraordinary town overflowing with mediaeval buildings...

An extraordinary town overflowing with mediaeval buildings so very picturesque. Many bars and restaurants. A fabulous Musee d'Art Moderne, unexpectedly good! Cite of Stained Glass, housed in a beautiful building was also very enjoyable. All in close proximity to the amazing cathedral.

Lots of great Champagne houses to visit, large and small.

Lots of great Champagne houses to visit, large and small. Some require reservations, but many, especially smaller ones, are good for dropping in on, and have a tasting and a chat on the history of the house, champagne production process, and just good old small talk.. Very lovely town, not too big to be overwhelming, not too small to get boring quickly, just right. If you have a car, 3-4 full days can be easily filled with fun activities, all within either 20 min walking, or 20 min driving (some gorgeous vistas not to be missed)

Pleasant interesting town at which we had not previously stayed. The city centre has a calm atmosphere of its own. We did a tour of the Joseph Perrier Champagne house which was impressive. Vincent was a friendly and informative host.

This city is charming, cheerful, and full of personality.

This city is charming, cheerful, and full of personality. The cafes, the grocery stores, the art expositions, the river, the churches, the children... I could live here. Charleville-Mezieres is like something out of a movie.

Only a fleeting visit , love it because it is perfect for me en route to Italy in my car. Previous visits to St. Dizier were always good but never long enough to appreciate the town fully. Pleasant surroundings and ameneties.

Lovely walled town.

Lovely walled town. There are plenty of little shops, bakeries, a supermarket, bars and restaurants. It’s great to walk around the ramparts which enclose the city. Everyone was very friendly. There is a great little market on Saturday selling local produce. Langres cheese is delicious.

Givet is a nice cute little town with a fortress on a hill, a river with enough possibilities for cycling/walking etc. Locals are friendly and it's one of my favourite starting point for travel to the south and explore the Ardennes.

After a long drive from Calais, I was looking forward to...

After a long drive from Calais, I was looking forward to having a good rest and a pleasant stay. I found the hotel quite easily – it’s quite close to the main routes on the outskirts of Sedan. The rooms (for my small group) had been allocated, which helped. Unfortunately, all the rooms were a bit on the small side. The twin bedded room I was in had little room to move around and contained a table that sat in the gap between the beds so I could not get through. Moving it to the foot of the bed meant there was no room to move around anywhere. As I was sharing with my Son, it was clear it wasn’t going to work, so I asked to move rooms and did get moved to a triple room which gave us a bit more space, but not much. The beds are quite small too and my tall Son spent two uncomfortable nights. Additionally, the tiny shower room (no room to turn around in the shower and a toilet with no elbow room) had a problem with the drains...it smelled quite unpleasant. It’s a low-budget hotel that needs to spruce itself up. We went for a walk to see a bit of Sedan – the centre is about 20-30 minutes walk and ok for a night out. There is a Chinese restaurant and a bar about 5-8 minutes walk from the hotel, so it wasn’t too far out.

Chaumont is charming.

Chaumont is charming. About 25 minutes drive to visit the Charles De Gaulle Memorial in Colombey Les Deux Eglise. I highly recommend a trip to the village to enjoy the memorial and local champagne house. Chaumont has friendly locals and delicious food.
