Better then a commercial resort because you get to truly experience Fijian hospitality. Located right on the beach with a stunning backdrop. The food was worth splurging on. Would highly recommend.

White Sandy Beach Dive Resort has an amazing beachfront location with clear water, great snorkeling, and beautiful sunsets. The vibe is very social and relaxed, perfect for meeting other travelers. Food was excellent with generous island-style meals, and Fijian night was a highlight. Rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable. Staff are super friendly and helpful with transfers and activities. Cash-only and no ATMs (normal for the Yasawas), but great value for money and a truly authentic Fiji experience. Would definitely stay again 🌴🇫🇯

The staff here felt like a group of friends. Getting to know them and speaking to them was the best part of our trip. They all helped me do a proposal that me and my fiance will cherish for the rest of our lives and went out of their way to tailor our experience of these islands to something really beautiful. They looked after us and made sure we were always comfortable and happy, which must be a lot of effort. We'd love to go back, and we can't say thank you enough to each one of them for how friendly and caring they were towards us. Even the wild dogs felt like friends, one of the most beautiful and enjoyable experiences of our whole life. Too many names to say individually, from the office to the massage therapist, activities, waiters, and office, everyone contributed to our unforgettable experience. Thank you for everything! Mareia and Jolame are the loveliest hosts you can imagine. I was the only guest there but they still took so much time for a full day trip to do the reef shark snorkeling with me and a nice island for picnic. They food was always fresh and so delicious. They were welcoming me like a family member. Vinaka vaka levu!

Stunning location, beautiful coral reef for snorkeling in front of the resort, the room has comfortable bed, the food was really great, and staff are welcoming. There were always some activities going on - free & paid, we also enjoyed the walk around the island to the other side - "sunset beach". Particularly I would like to highlight the restaurant area with almost 360 views. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back.

We wanted a homestay run by locals, so we got an authentic experience. No roads, no cars, only walking tracks and hiking trails. Wonderful. They are isolated, so no shop, I would recommend taking sachet coffees etc if you like more than instant. If you get inspired to want to help them (as I was) you could think of taking snorkelling flippers and leaving them there, or packraft paddles (they come apart), or a yoghurt maker and powder packets to make yoghurt. Some books, games, or big maps of Yasawa. We had a week, which was just right....but didn't get to do all the activities we intended to. Too nice being relaxed and even lazy. The ferry ride there is fun and interesting and they supply complimentary transfers to and from accommodation. South Sea Cruises. Apparently there is a supply boat from Lautoka once a week which is much cheaper.

BareFoot Kuata was a fair or probably a bad place to stay.

BareFoot Kuata was a fair or probably a bad place to stay. It is focused on the Backpacker tourist and even for that customer segment I find it expensive for the quality of food and accommodation. Food was not good at all. A typical buffet with the regular stuff and nothing that will impress you. Basic food. Basic coffee. Basic Tea. The staff at the restaurant were just doing their job but they were never friendly or welcoming. The guy that took my luggage to the Bure told me as I arrived how tired he was of working and walking to the most distant Bure which is number 30. More of hinting for a tip. Also he suggested to be approached individually if I wanted a fresh coconut. The facilities were simply all right. There were lounges by the beach that had not seen any proper cleaning or maintenance in a long time so it looks sad and abandonned. The staff at the Dive Shop when being asked for a kayak at 4 pm looked like they were not keen to help as they finish their day at 5 pm. Cleaning could have been better. The hotel lacks greenery other than what is there already, as pathways and common areas could be enhanced and made more beautiful. Once again, if you are into the backpacking world, this could be for you. But if you want a more boutique hotel or intimate experience, then I would go somewhere else. The only reason why I chose it was the snorkeling with the sharks but you can do that as a day visitor.

Gorgeous island - beautiful beaches, coral reef, and the island itself is lovely - you can go on a mountain forest walk as well as be on the beach. Delicious food, and lots of activities - we enjoyed the mountain walks, the beaches, diving, snorkelling and also just relaxing by the pool, trying out the yoga classes and massages and also the trips to the nearby local villages.

I stayed at White Sandy Beach Dive Resort on Naviti Island and honestly didn’t want to leave. The beachfront bungalows are right on the sand — wake up, step outside, and you’re literally on a postcard-perfect white sandy beach with crystal-clear water. The food was a big highlight, especially dinner. Every night we had a 4-course meal, freshly cooked and full of flavour — way more than you’d expect from a remote island resort. As a backpacker, this was amazing value and super social in the evenings. What really sets this place apart is that it’s the only resort on the island with 24-hour solar-powered electricity. Having power all day and night was such a comfort — plus great Vodafone network, which is rare out here in the Yasawas. The new owners are absolutely amazing — super welcoming, helpful, and always around to help with anything, from boat transfers to activities and local tips. You can really see the love they’ve put into the place with the new upgrades and improvements happening everywhere. If you’re backpacking Fiji and want a place with a true island vibe, great food, comfort, and friendly people — White Sandy Beach Resort is a must-stay. I’d 100% come back.

The best parts of my stay included staying at Waya Lai Lai Eco Haven resort - the cultural immersion and exposure to the local village, getting to know the local staff, the intentionality and hospitality they all showed consistently towards guests, the excellent home cooked food and fun activities. Very windy when i stayed which was a bummer but the room and its bathroom was very nice and private. I would highly recommend getting someone to take you to blue lagoon beach across the other side of the island over the hills as it was stunning and a great swimming spot! Near Nanuya Island resort.
