As snorkelers, we weren't sure if we'd fit in at a dive resort, however, our concerns were completely unfounded. Heading out on the dive boat in the mornings and exploring the reef with a guide (while the divers explored other deeper parts of the reef) was exactly the experience we were hoping for. From the moment we checked in, we knew we were somewhere different to any other resort we'd stayed at. First and foremost, the staff are what make Taveuni Dive Resort so special. HIGHLY recommend the meal plan as the food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented (besides, there's no kitchen in the bures, so cooking your own food is nigh impossible... and why would you want to!?). Speaking of bures, although no air conditioning, the dual fans were sufficient to keep us cool on the hot nights. Windows are all protected with mesh, so no issues with bugs. The shower was great (best in the afternoon when water is hottest). The king (maybe super king) bed was really comfortable. It was quite a novelty for us to have a turndown service! Starlink WiFi Internet is fast, but limited to the restaurant area. Cellphone reception is present, but patchy and slow data rates. For location, the resort is only a 15min boat ride from the reef. It's a 1.5hr drive to Lavena (one way) over some very rough dirt roads (the sealed sections are a blessing). The dive/snorkel outings are half day activities, so it's possible to do something else in the afternoon. The pool was great afterwards! Breakfast was selected the night before (at dinner) and had a good range to choose from. The breakfasts were excellent (as was all the food!). All meals are served at the restaurant. The staff catered for gluten free (banana bread was so good). Coffee, tea and filtered water was complimentary (dairy, soy and almond milk was available). Packed lunches can also be booked the night before to pick up at breakfast if heading out for the day.

We booked two nights at Aroha and on the day we arrived we extended our stay because this place IS paradise. The bungalows are clean and I mean clean clean. Also the pool is probably one of the cleanest I have ever swum in. The beds are so comfy, the outdoor shower was great as you can see the stars when showering. The owners payed attention to so many details and you can just feel they put their heart into making Aroha a special place. They have a little restaurant and we went there every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and every single meal was delicious (Krish the chef did an amazing job). The staff is kind and they really try to make the best out of your stay. We felt so welcomed. Aroha has new owners since the beginning of the year and they made some changes to the furniture so the bungalows were even nicer than on the pictures. Another thing is their new coffee machine, the coffee was excellent! The garden and the property are well maintained, the beach is only five steps away from the bungalows and you can see a beautiful sunset every night.

Location was beautiful with bures directly above the sandy beach. Great swimming and snorkeling directly in front of resort and surf break only 2km out in front. Manager & staff were amazing - super friendly, great service and really helpful. The food was very good and meals with Spanish Mackerel were exceptional. Private, peaceful and relaxing with plenty to do. The full day around island snorkeling tour with picnic and smoked fish on the beach was a highlight. Incredible coral and fish on the 5 snorkeling sites we were taken to.

Storm, Raymond, Milli, Eric and all of the other staff were brilliant from start to finish. The setting of the resort was stunning with great views and an immaculate garden. The food was consistently good/varied and the Fiji night buffet/performance from the local kids was a great idea. The activities offered were all worthwhile and mostly value for money. Our room was a great size and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend!

The snorkelling out the back of the hotel was lovely. There was a large staff to customer ratio which meant there was always someone to help you. Lots of lovely plants at the hotel and the rooms were nice. Free water refills is always appreciated.
