This is a great place to stay near Granada. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are simply perfect & a nice swimming pool turn it into a splendid package. Breakfast is great (good coffee) & dinner is enjoyable at moderate prices. (Be sure to order 'grandmother's paella). We ordered a taxi to go to the Alhambra and that is certainly the best option.

We were seeking a place away from the touristy hustle and bustle, where we could enjoy living as part of a village community while enjoying the natural landscape of the area. Our other consideration was that we were looking for a long stay for close to 3 months over the summer period so the accommodation needed to be able to cater for this too. We were not disappointed at all, the apartment was more than adequate for our needs. The village itself is in the national park and the wider area is very beautiful, with most day to day facilities either within the village itself or wider choices being a 15-20 minute drive. Granada or the coast are also easily accessible via the good network of roads. We have to mention the owners Antonio and Rosario who went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable and welcoming and received us almost as family members!

The property was kept well including the hot tub which was a big highlight for me. You would need to come quite prepared if you are staying at this property, especially bringing in extra jumpers / thick blankets as it can get really cold. I liked that they were also able to provide balloon decoration for special occasions as well.

Very convenient to visit the Alhambra as the bus to Granada city centre stops right in front of the camping and it runs every 20 mins. The car can be parked outside for free or inside the camping for a fee. The camping is small but nice. The bungalow kitchenette is well equipped, towels and bed lining provided.

We visited and skied in Pradollano during peak season. It was a very enjoyable and interesting experience, although there was not a great deal of snow during our visit we still managed to enjoy our time there during the weekdays. The weekends look particularly busy so if you don’t like a very crowded ski field might be best to avoid the weekends.

The most perfect place I have ever stayed!!

The most perfect place I have ever stayed!! I almost don't want to write a review because everyone will want to go! :) This was my second time here, and it has become my sanctuary and my happy place, I plan to return every year if possible. The gourmet breakfast is delicious, with different options available every morning, fresh juices, fresh fruit, and excellent coffee! Dinner is fabulous with excellent service, tasty Michelin level food, beyond expectation! The place itself is perched up on top of the hill very close to a beautiful hiking trail called 'Monachil Los Cahorros' - (anyone can do this trail whether you want to do a shorter or longer route). The hike has hanging bridges, caves, streams, uphill and downhill routes! The most tranquil and beautiful spot you will ever visit, whether its a solo trip like me or with family, friends or a loved one! The most amazing views from the hotel (which is a boutique sustainable hotel) - The bed was an absolute dream, and all the rooms are perfect, with beautiful detail!

The "Cafe Europa" serves an absolutely splendid 3-course lunch. Pampaneira is walked through in a couple of minutes and makes for some nice pictures, but this is the highlight for us, every time we get here. Other than that you can take a considerable 10km hike all the way up to Capileira and down the other side of the river. This can be shortended by making it down to the river from Bubion. We had a very pleasant hike, partly shadowed by trees. No water source on opposite side, so fill up in Capileira.

Durcal is a very quaint, traditional Spanish town.

Durcal is a very quaint, traditional Spanish town. There are many restaurants and bars and a few shops and a couple of supermarkets and pharmacies. There is also a church in the square. There are almost no vegetarian options except pizza and veggie burgers occasionally available in the area. Also of note is that there is very little English spoken here. Durcal is a very friendly place and a short drive to the mountain range and the town of Granada.
