Mostly very quiet. Out in the country but close to the beach and village facilities. Beautiful countryside. Fabulous bread/cake shop. Easy access to Santander by ferry from a nearby village (and free parking). Amazing archelogy/anthropology museum in Santander - first class and good English info available.

The property was close to the Camino de Santiago, in beautiful surroundings. There were cows immediately in front of the property which was absolutely fine with us, we were in farming country. There are two properties which are beautiful from the outside.

The hotel is in very beautiful location, quiet and relaxing. The view through the window was so beautiful. Rooms have themes, we stayed in Tom Cruise room, it is funny idea :) Very clean and cosy. The value for money is great in this area.

Peaceful retreat, with extremely friendly and helpful family owners, endless views of the ocean from the room's terrace and a big green lawn to enjoy the sunset. Walking distance to La Langre beach (5 mins drive).

Somo's apartment is located in greenery and peaceful...

Somo's apartment is located in greenery and peaceful location but close to supermarkets and restaurants. The beach is reachable within a 10-minute walk. Rafa is fantastic guest and helpful person. Excellent choice!

Galizano is a village really.

Galizano is a village really. You could walk from the hotel to the beach if fit but there is free parking very near the beach. The beach is usually quiet in the morning. There is a small supermarket open for limited hours in the village. Excellent bakery in the village near the Hotel Vijanera. The beach is very nice - the parking really helps and it is quite accessible as there is a paved path down to the beach and it is not very steep. There are toilets at the beach and there was a beach bar which was really lovely but I guess only open in the busiest periods and certainly not when the weather isn't so good. We really recommend the burgers and cocktails at the beach bar. My photo could really confuse people! When the tide is right out this is what it looks like but it can also come right into the bay. There are lifeguards on the beach from 11am to 7pm in summer.

when you book online,the place you see on booking,is not the place that you stay at!!you could end up at another Lodge they have 4 lodges in differant locations Second night we bought bread and ham from supermarket and had that in our room

Good to get to the beach ...

Good to get to the beach ... I am Australian and grew up on the coast so I know a bit about these things. Somo beach has a usually gentle wave with sand bottom good for learning how to surf. Centro de surf with bar above is a good feature but are there showers/toilets ? not signposted if they exist. One beachside tap for washing sand off your feet but no beach showers (like in most beaches in France) great handy car park close to the beach

Ideal location just outside Santander easy to catch ferry into city. Supermarkets were adequate, the two restaurants we tried to get into one refused because there were ten of us, the second catered for us brilliantly
