There was nothing not to like. We're very fussy travellers and a bit grumpy after long drives. Mauro greeted us in the early evening and straight away offered to cook us dinner. And what a dinner it was. A tasty, tender meat dish for one of us and a gourmet vegetarian meal for the other. We were recommended the local wines which complemented the meals beautifully. The rooms were clean, warm, and the bed was as good as one can expect. The next morning, we were stunned with the view as the lake took up the whole width of the dining area. After walking around the shore of the lake and saying hello to the sheep on the property, Mauro served us a varied, tasty and wholesome breakfast before heading off. Mauro was a 1st class host always with a smile on his face and always ready to please.

Palacio Carvajal Girón is located next to Plasencia's main square and just a few minutes' walk from the city's main monuments.

Beautiful and very unique hotel set in the centre of the Old Town, surrounded by buildings four to five hundred years old. Terrific location. Huge bedroom and massive bathroom. Spotlessly clean and great balcony/patio. Parking on the premises was a bonus. Lovely breakfast eaten in a huge and very striking dining room.

Located 5 minutes' drive from Plasencia centre and with easy access to all major roads, this hotel is just a 20 minute drive from the beautiful Monfragüe Park.

We arrived stressed and late. The behavior of the staff was like therapy! Welcoming, calming and so helpful. We have stayed there before so were not totally surprised, but sometimes things change - this did not. The food was exceptional - not only for itself but for the service surrounding it - nothing was too much trouble.
