Best stay along the Camino. We ended up in a Suite and it was perfect. Clean, spacious and comfortable. The jacuzzi worked wonders to recover after a long day of walking. SPA services were great too. The staff was just amazing. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options to choose from. Location was good with anything you may need just steps away.

Actually we were only looking for a place to stay over night on our road-trip to Portugal but we were surprised to find such a pretty hotel. We even had our own little balcony. Furthermore, the food at the restaurant was really good. Looking back we wish we would‘ve stayed another night.

Excellent value for money. We arrived on a very cold, wet night. The hosts were excellent and very accommodating. Always with a happy face and willing to go above and beyond. The hotel was warm, cozy and inviting and the single bed very, very comfortable. Lots of hot water and a very powerful shower. They provided two evening meal sittings at 7 and at 10 and the food was lovely and not expensive.

Santiago de Compostela is the terminus for all the Caminos in Spain and is a good place to decompress after all the walking. The food is great, particularly the empanadas from El Trebol. The Pilgrim's Mass at the cathedral is worth attending (even if you don't speak Spanish). And if you are a Geocacher there are some fun Geocaches in unexpected places!

Leon is a tad touristy but still retains some of Europes most beautiful Archtecture not least of which is the Cathedral of course - built with a population supposedly around 5000 leaves one in awe at what was built … and where the money came from . The modern side will entertain the shopaholics ( you know who you are !) but the cultural bit can be done in a few days with ease . Restaurants cater for all .

Such an easy, walk-able, historic old town city.

Such an easy, walk-able, historic old town city. We covered many kilometres on foot with occasional breaks on the conveniently placed benches in the streets, parks and gardens. So much history to be uncovered in such a small area with stunning views and drops! Stay on your toes & be aware of your surroundings because, unlike many countries, not everything is fenced off to protect unaware people.

Logrono on a Saturday was packed with party tourists, the bridge into the city center was closed, and police were monitoring the main bridges into the city. Crowds of people refused to even move off the streets to allow me to get to my hotel. Several pounded on the hood of my car, as if I was daring to intrude on their taking over the streets. The police had to escort me into the city to the hotel and even for them, the people did not get out of their way. I am sure there are charming areas to the city, but it is absolutely not a place to drive to and parking is in lots across the bridges, not exactly welcoming to those who wish to stay the night. Maybe take a bus tour - I certainly will not ever go back. I did not even go out to eat anything. As a solo traveler I am not intimidated by big cities, big crowds, etc,. But this is supposed to be a charming small town. Did Rick Steves do a show here? These were not English speaking tourists - mostly Spanish and French.

The Gaudi palace was amazing and well worth the visit for that alone. Really enjoyed the 3D immersive experience too which they also had in the Cathedral. Had time to visit the Roman Museum but not the chocolate factory as only had the one night. Ate in the main plaza and as it was a Monday not everything was open but Tuesday morning there was more choice for breakfast. Main sights are all within walking distance

Beautiful city and people.

Beautiful city and people. It is a Jewel in Camino de Santiago. The best is just walk through the streets and get lost finding all amazing historical treasures this city offers. From its magnificent Church of Santa María (with so many treasures including the burial of Cesra Borgia), but with its amazing welcoming flare, wee you can find a place to sit to pray, admire or just have a moment of solace and peace. The Plaza Mayor, the old Walls and Church, the Monastery, the houses and their balconies, the restaurants and the vibrant life in the Calle Mayor.
