LatviaEverything! The location, the calmness, the sea at your doorstep. Nothing like the big hotels with crowds. I visited with my mother, who has a walking disability, and instantly upon arrival the staff were attentive and ready to help with anything at any moment. We could not have been more grateful or happy. The diving centre right next to the hotel is also great—an amazing experience. Food-wise, there were gluten-free and vegetarian options, which were excellent.
Friendly cat on site who appreciates some cuddles and a treat. We’re already planning to go back because we enjoyed it so much.

This one has exceeded all our expectations. We were seated and served welcome drink on our arrival and the staff took care of all our needs promptly and efficiently. Staff were really helpful and the facilities were really nice and clean. Its a bonus to get to use adjacent sister hotel facilities too. Overall highly recommended.

Snorkeling at the beach is one of the best snorkeling places I’ve ever seen and it’s right in front of the hotel. Beautiful coral with amazing fish and you easily spot turtles and stingrays as well. I haven’t been able to see a dugong but they are also there. The service is great and the animation team is amazing. Every night top-notch entertainment, it was so much fun. The entire hotel is very clean as well. 0 complaints (and if you do, they fix it right away!)

The resort's location is breathtaking, perched along the Red Sea with mesmerizing views and direct access to vibrant snorkeling spots. The building itself is a masterpiece, blending grandeur and elegance in its design. We felt like royalty every single day as we strolled through its majestic surroundings.
Outstanding Rooms and Amenities
Our room was beautifully designed, offering luxury, comfort, and stunning sea views. Everything was impeccably clean and thoughtfully arranged, thanks to the attentive housekeeping staff who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
World-Class Food and Dining
The food selection was phenomenal, with something to satisfy every palate. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always a treat, but the evening desserts at Culina Restaurant were simply divine! Whether you’re a foodie or just looking for variety, the culinary experience here is second to none.
Incredible Activities and Relaxation
One of the highlights of our trip was the snorkeling right off the resort. The marine life was so vibrant and abundant that it easily surpassed the organized snorkeling excursions we’ve been on before. For relaxation, we indulged in two Hammams and four massages during our 10-day stay. The spa staff were exceptional, and the preheated pool near the spa added an extra touch of luxury.
Attentive and Hardworking Staff
The resort’s staff are its true heart and soul. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and committed to ensuring our comfort. A special mention goes to Atef AbdelAty, who worked incredibly hard and deserves all the recognition for his dedication.

The hotel was everything we wanted for our stay.
What surprised us the most was the cleanlines of everything, not just the rooms. It shows age of the structure but everyrhing is well taken care of and not at all in bad shape.
We stayed in the swim up suite and I can't recommend it highly enough.
The adult only areas of the hotel are a godsend, we stuck to those as they were less crowded and less noisy.
The teppanyaki and the egyptian restaurants were really good to eat at.
The staff was also very nice to everyone When we requested a late check-out they gave it to us free of charge. The service in the a-la-carte and the pool restaurant was exceptional I have to say.
All in all a great stay and we would visit again sometime.

Everything in this resort is amazing. My priority, in any resort/hotel, is a quiet place for a good sleep.
This resort is so quiet and they preserve it in every detail. You dont hear stuff making noises, bothering guests with machines, no guests are talking loud outside of your room. No loud parties and no music during the day. You can relax and just chill anywhere without being hammered in the head.
Amazing time I had.
And to add, perfect cleaning, food is so tasteful and all stuff is super nice.
Location is also something else. Away from all the city noise and all you can hear are the waves and birds!!

We were very satisfied here. Clean rooms, bathroom, balcony, nothing to complain about.
Super service from the housekeeping manager Alaa, whatever we needed, he arranged and satisfied us. He takes care of us and the other guests, so that we feel good and have everything we need:)
The resort is also very nice, constantly maintained, pleasant staff on the beach and in the bars, good food, helpful reception.
We also used the SPA services, great satisfaction - Loa is really professional

The rooms are perfect, the food is perfect, the whole hotel is so great! You have always so much to do as the animation team is trying their best to entertain! I will be coming back as soon as possible for sure!

The Seagull hotel was a very nice place to stay. On I arrival, the Booking agent, Basem welcomed us and, during the whole vacation, was on our service whenever needed. Rooms were freshly renovated and the cleaning service, with cleaner Ahmed, who was charged for our Room, did everything for our stay to be more comfortable. Room service and service at the pools were quick and pleasent. Big yes from us.

Hurghada is very beautiful and it's weather is wonderful all year round. The people are so nice and friendly and there are so much activities to participate in. There are all types of hotels to meet all budgets and expectations. Beaches are wonderful, diving, snorkeling, aquarium, desert trips ... etc.

Return in Marsa Alam, for me it's always special, and for all the times I spent there, I return back home always with a good memories.
This time, compared to before, I experienced "Solo" traveler, as recharging holiday, and as it happens on past (with family) it doesn't make me disappoint on it.
Expected to find over Marsa Alam snorkeling 6 Desert safari.

The Alaya hotel guests has a private beach area at Coraya bay, my husband and I were given a lift there by a golf cart. Alaya staff greeted us at the beach area ,attending to our needs. providing beach chairs, umbrella and bar service . The swimming are is great, water is clean and warm. Snorkeling and scuba diving is available. I did snorkel and it was a great experience.

Our stay at Porto Ghalib was truly enjoyable. The location is beautiful with direct access to the marina and a stunning beach. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food offered a good variety every day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The snorkeling experience was amazing we even saw sea turtles, which made our trip unforgettable. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely come back again.

A beautiful town, though its glory days are long gone. Unfortunately, as is common in Egypt, the locals have no idea what to do with their trash. It's more of an education issue. However, the people are very friendly, helpful, and always smiling.

I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea goes. My favourite place of all time is the Concorde Moreen Hotel, with the Hilton coming a strong second.
We only ate at the hotels, because our time was limited.
I used the taxi service offered online by Booking.com, which I found to be very efficient and reasonable. But I am also a seasoned traveller in Egypt and do not find it difficult to negotiate with taxi drivers. (It can be very useful to ask Chat GPT first what an average trip should cost you, if you are unsure, and then use that as a guideline for your negotiations.)
It's an amazing experience to go out on a boat, but picking the right one can make the difference. I will be leaving my review on our experience separately (as it warrants a whole story on its own :))

The sea was beautiful.
The sea was beautiful. Unfortunately strong winds kept me from going into the sea. We stayed mostly in the lagoons. There was no access to sea from the beach, only from the pier. The life guards were good and attentive.

Not many tourists, no aggressive salesmen.
The city is not rich, so expect some garbage lying around.
Prices are generally very low, not adjusted for tourists (except at nearby hotels).
We found only a few restaurants, but many fastfood places.

We visit the big shopping mall, was really good for shopping the only thing that was not good for us is that people are allow to smoke inside and the smell was not nice. The marina was really nice to walk and to have lunch, I think at night would be amazing.

We've been to Dahab, Sharm Al Sheik and Hurghada before.
We've been to Dahab, Sharm Al Sheik and Hurghada before. We really like being in Egypt and particularly the snorkelling the Red Sea has to offer, but we wanted to try something new. Marsa Alam is similar in terms of offerings for snorkelling and diving but much much less crowded and much less shopping options. In fact some of the beaches we visited - Marsa Egla and Tondoba Bay - were virtually empty. There were perhaps us and one other small group of people there. The snorkelling was excellent. I suspect most people holidaying in Marsa Alam stay in resorts and don't leave them much. Package tourism - you see these massive resorts up the coast. Marsa Alam itself looks like a city still under construction. There are more half finished than finished buildings. Half of what look like shops are yet to be occupied. We thought that was fine though - who wants to go shopping on a holiday? If you are into shopping this isn't for you. Noticeably, the people in restaurants and shops hussle and hassle you much less than other places in Egypt. I imagine all this will change in coming years given the volume of development. But for now this is a super quiet sea side spot. A village still developing. This also means there isn't lots of cultural things to do.But, if you like to chill with your travel companions, dive, snorkel, kite surf or just laze on a beach (think rocky Red Sea beaches, not Thailand or Australian white sand beaches) - then you'll probably enjoy this. We had good company, books and cards and had a great time. You'll need to make your own entertainment (or go on one of the many organised tours).
