The rooms are literally on the beachfront, we've had like 30 meters distance to the water. There is a small reef 50 meters from the shore, and snorkelers will be pleased with the diversity of marine life there (highlights include blue spotted rays, torpedo rays, adolescent morays and sea turtles). The hotel neighbours a German diving centre, so you can book a boat diving/snorkelling trip with them or just rent some equipment and dive/snorkel off the shore. Staff is great, everyone is very helpful and tries their best, you can book plenty of trips with the management. Food was amazing, plenty of options, everything was really well seasoned. We are vegetarians and we have never struggled with the choice of meal.

Stayed for 3 nights — beautiful sandy beach and easy swim access to the “city underwater” for snorkeling. Rooms are new, modern, and very comfortable. Some areas are still under work, but the workers were always respectful of guests and stopped immediately when anyone passed by. The reception staff were friendly and responsive — even though the hotel can get busy, they follow up promptly if any requests are missed. The beach team were especially cheerful and helpful. I had a minor injury on the coral reefs, and they kindly assisted with moving my wheelchair around and provided first aid, which I truly appreciated. The food was fresh, varied, and of good quality. Overall, a pleasant and caring atmosphere — highly recommend for both relaxation and snorkeling.

From the very beginning, Miss Massaouda welcomed us warmly. She showed us our room, explained the entire resort, and was always there for us throughout our stay. No matter what we needed, she always found a solution. Wow, what incredible service! Our housekeeper Mohamed was extremely attentive. He cleaned our room thoroughly every single day and surprised us with a small thoughtful gesture daily. Truly outstanding! The food and drinks were delicious and of great quality. The restaurant staff were quick, friendly, and consistently focused on the guests’ well-being. We felt extremely comfortable and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Great breakfast and dinner. I could find everything I wanted to eat. The food was varied and delicious. I really liked the restaurant itself, which has a lot of space and you don't have to look for a free table. If you want, you can eat inside, if you want - on the terrace with a great view of the sea. I liked how the hotel was designed, in the shape of the letter T, it's just convenient to walk everywhere without getting lost. I liked the easy modern style of the hotel. Great swimming in the sea, you can swim as far as you want from the shore, or swim from the bridge, if there is no big wind and waves. I didn't see any dugongs, but there were a lot of turtles, and they, not paying attention to the swimming tourists, eat grass for themselves.

It was our very first time at the Royal Makadi Sunrise Resort and the experience has simply been exceptional. It started with the reservation and the communication with the hotel has been very reactive and fluide. Our requests for the room was respected and the entire team is super efficient to make the check in super fast. The entire complex is very well managed. The team (reception, restaurant, beach, maintenance etc...) is super friendly and customer oriented. To be frank this is not the style we were used to in Egypt, and it was really impressive. Choice of restaurant (buffet or à la carte) is really great. Unique (tiny) comment -> the online booking system for the restaurant is working randomly but customer service was always ready to help. To be super "peaky", tennis courts may open a bit earlier than 8 AM. When things are easy, no need to make them complicated -> we are super happy with our stay and are clearly envisaging to come back in the near future.

Friendly staff, including bartenders, top-level service, daily housekeeping, clean pools and the entire territory. The administration worries about your satisfaction and really does a lot for this - they get into your situation, make compromises and exceptions for their guests. We are very, very satisfied and grateful for their care! Our flight was delayed for 14 hours and we were forced to come back to the hotel for the day, administration provide to us all facilities (of course without the room) and we spent lovely time in pleasent conditions there while waiting the flight - pool, towels, food and bevereges, luggege keeping. Thank you for this!!! The food is excellent - chicken, beef, fish, grilled shrimps, national dishes, many desserts, fruits, vegetables, wine and delicious coffee, 3 free restoraunts. Wonderful coral reef on the beach of the hotel with a sandy bottom.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were incredibly helpful. We had a couple of difficulties that were not in anyway the hotel's fault but they still helped us solve them. I had a birthday while I was there and they must have noticed on my passport because when we got back to the room that day, housekeeping had created a beautiful cake and hearts on the bed with towels. It was a sweet surprise.

We visit the big shopping mall, was really good for shopping the only thing that was not good for us is that people are allow to smoke inside and the smell was not nice. The marina was really nice to walk and to have lunch, I think at night would be amazing.

Marsa Alam is amazing. i would suggest to go there if your only purpose is water and nature because is the only thing that there is there. Desert and Marine life. iy you love adventures, that is the place.

The Alaya hotel guests has a private beach area at Coraya...

The Alaya hotel guests has a private beach area at Coraya bay, my husband and I were given a lift there by a golf cart. Alaya staff greeted us at the beach area ,attending to our needs. providing beach chairs, umbrella and bar service . The swimming are is great, water is clean and warm. Snorkeling and scuba diving is available. I did snorkel and it was a great experience.

Our stay at Porto Ghalib was truly enjoyable. The location is beautiful with direct access to the marina and a stunning beach. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food offered a good variety every day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The snorkeling experience was amazing we even saw sea turtles, which made our trip unforgettable. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely come back again.

I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea goes. My favourite place of all time is the Concorde Moreen Hotel, with the Hilton coming a strong second. We only ate at the hotels, because our time was limited. I used the taxi service offered online by Booking.com, which I found to be very efficient and reasonable. But I am also a seasoned traveller in Egypt and do not find it difficult to negotiate with taxi drivers. (It can be very useful to ask Chat GPT first what an average trip should cost you, if you are unsure, and then use that as a guideline for your negotiations.) It's an amazing experience to go out on a boat, but picking the right one can make the difference. I will be leaving my review on our experience separately (as it warrants a whole story on its own :))

Very quiet town, simple and the sea is amazing.

Very quiet town, simple and the sea is amazing. You can swim anywhere. No so much facilities ( food places, supermarkets,..) and pharmacies located around hotels. Weather is hot, limited gas stations and road is not preferable to be taken at night.

The sea was beautiful.

The sea was beautiful. Unfortunately strong winds kept me from going into the sea. We stayed mostly in the lagoons. There was no access to sea from the beach, only from the pier. The life guards were good and attentive.

Very nice and friendly locals!

Very nice and friendly locals! Not many tourists, no aggressive salesmen. The city is not rich, so expect some garbage lying around. Prices are generally very low, not adjusted for tourists (except at nearby hotels). We found only a few restaurants, but many fastfood places.

Beach area we were in wasn't the greatest,no swimming area ,too shallow and rocky not sandy.Took quad ride out in desert was fun.Lots of fish to see on reefs,water very clean.marss Mubarak has resident dugong and turtles but didn't see the dugong on our visit.Overall nice place ,a bit on the windy side but nice relief from heat.

Second time I have been and after the first I said that I wouldn't return. There wont be a third. The place is a dump and the only good thing that i can think of are the tropical fish that you see when you go snorkelling.
