What a beautiful stay it was at Nina Kordon's Guesthouse! First of all, thank you for being so patient and understanding while I was trying to speak Estonian and remember all the words, It was such a pleasure to speak the language after so many years! Now about the actual guesthouse - it was marvellous, so authentic, very clean, and has everything you might need. Also such a close distance to the beach (literally less than a minute's walk) and the possibility of looking at the beautiful sunset over Peipsi Lake.
Additionally, I must mention the breakfast. Your pickles will forever live in my memory! And by serving them for breakfast, you just stole my heart, cos I'm a true pickle girl. My husband was amazed by the variety of breakfast options and he especially enjoyed the linden tea you had.

My room was very cozy. It was like a dorm room, with twin beds and two working spaces, a kitchenette. I really liked it, one of my favourite stays in Tartu. I booked it on purpose to be a nice hour's walk from my university. Most people would take the bus (stop's very close), or drive, or whatever. And you guys, there's a legendary fast food place called Sirius close by, and the food is really cheap and really tasty. No joke.

What had everything you would need for longer stay. Of course it is not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you love historical site , then it is perfect place to stay. 4 minutes from city square. Staff was super friendly and clear about everything and tried to make our stay as perfect as possible . Thank you.

THe town square has a fountain with statues of kissing Students, the city has lots of museums, you can walk around the city, there is a beach, next to a lake close to the river, which in the summer is a great place to be, as you can swim, or, just sunbathe there, as its a great place to be.
there are also lots of cafes, and restaurants that do special offers between 12 pm to 3pm, with certain set menus, and they are great to have to eat, as done it a few times.

This can be dubbed the garden town of Estonia (which in itself could be named the garden country of Europe). Every detached house has an immaculate garden with lots of flowers in the summer and the town government does not save pennies on making streets floral and beautiful. There are small and larger forests in the neighbourhood and there are two small beaches bordering natural lakes in the town centre. For those looking for vibrant nightlife, this is not the place to be. From Elva you can take the train or bus to Tartu from the 19th century wooden train station. In the other direction, the train goes to Valga from where you can travel onwards into Latvia. Overall, i would think that 3 days is about right to explore Elva (and its excellent small scale restaurants) and the surroundings.

The hostess was great.
The hostess was great. They provided additional information regarding a tour of the castle and the area. The breakfast menu was provided the evening before and it was extensive. I checked off just about everything on offer and then worried it would be too much, but the portions were adjusted accordingly, and thus I was delighted to have been able to taste all of what was offered. As for the area...restful.

Absolutely fantastic small, green, walkable city with a great young studently attitude combined with lots of arts. Poets, writers dramatists who had come from there.
I found learning all about them while strolling leisurely around their city fascinating. I, personally, really hope to return there soon.

Tartu is the intellectual capital of Estonia and has some great museums. Eesti Rahva Museum is a must go. A fantastic history of Estonia and the finno-ugrik peoples. Vanemuine opera is good and good value. Loodus museum is better than Tallinn.
Great restaurants and easy to get around on public transport.
