United KingdomOn first arrival I met John who found me the best room in the hotel. He was exceptional and gave 5 star service. My bag was incredibly heavy but he carried it for me without hesitation. Carolina his friend has beautiful eyes. Matheu solved the booking mistake and helped me out alot. In the morning I was met by Edilee and Isabela. Fantastic staff and super accommodating. Very comfortable rooms in smart hotel near the beach with great views and excellent value for money. From Bayahibe to Catalina and Saona islands is a fantastic holiday in Paradise with turquoise seas and white beaches and Presidente ice cold beer!

I can see why this hotel is 5 stars, its the little details, all the staff will say hello to you, yes there are a few that dont speak good English but they will always try and help, they even put their "catalonia" logo in their smoking sand every morning. The beach is about a 7 minute walk from reception area and is beautiful but people are not wrong when they say you have to get up at 6am to reserve a decent spot. We had heard of other places in the dominican having serious seaweed issues and there were zero here. We went to see the fish in the corals which was wonderful. Food at the Peruvian restaurant was incredible. Only downside is if you dont book somewhere to eat for the night you will end up just getting room service with a very limited menu. We did find a lot of things out later on in the holiday as no one explained anything except where the beach was, we weren't sure on what services we could use or which part of the beach to use etc.
We got some form of bug which had us being sick for 3 days and had no idea they had medical supplies at the shop which would've really helped.
The room was incredible, slight issue with water pressure but nothing big and everything was clean.
We wanted to take Esther the cleaning lady home with us, she was just a vibe. So welcoming and lovely and even came to say goodbye when we left.
Another staff shout out is for the woman who works on the "non adults" side at the beach bar, she was always happy to see us and exclaimed "palm beach!" (My drink of choice) every time we went up and was full of smiles.
Overall we had an excellent time and we will definitely be back. The friendly staff counteract the rude guests and the scenery is just incredible.

This was my 5th visit at this hotel, the first being in 2002, when the resort had just opened, and my last one 10 years ago.
The rooms are now renovated, as well as the bathrooms, which were updated to the current standards.
The entire area has developed quite a bit, there are now shops nearby and places where you can spend time. When I was there last, there was nothing around the hotel. Now it's a small village with inner roads and dozens of small shops and small hotels.
The port is now 5 minutes away just east of the resort, so it is easy to leave and arrive for/from excursions.
The best restaurant in the resort is still the Gheisha (japanese).
The kids loved the stay and can't wait to get back :)

The services were wonderful. Five salt water pools that poured out into the Caribbean. Half of the pools are exclusive for hotel guests so you sometimes get lucky and have it just for yourself.
The restaurant was also delicious with a big variety of foods and drinks. They had everything from pizza to tomahawk steak. And on the Saturday there was live music. It was really fun!
The nature was also a great highlight. There were lots of crabs and fish. Some of the best snorkelling we had was at the hotel (and we were in Las Terrenas and Punta Cana)

Casa de Campo is understood to be the 'top' resort of the country and it did not disappoint. Indeed from the first complimentary cocktail at reception to both the level of luxury and extent of the facilities, all surpassed our expectation, surprising us anew several times with sheer variety. Exceptional SPA. Plentiful restaurants and a vast and stunningly beautiful area to explore. So enjoyed the golf buggy to get around. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Everything, starting from the menu and drinks and ending up with the beach and activities exceeded our expectations. Hotel territory is clean and beautiful! Food served is wide in variety and very tasty for all the meals and a la cart. We also liked the possibility to take masks for snorkelling for an hour to see the fishes (and there are quite many)

Beautiful view from the rooftop. You can swim in the pool whenever you want.
Room was clean and had everything you needed to stay here for a couple of days.

A relaxed beach town, and major step-off point for trips to Saona Island. The place is buzzing at the start and end of the day when island trips depart and return, but otherwise it's relaxed and friendly. Plenty of places to eat and drink at night. Overall, far more liberty to wander and take trips than if you're stuck at a resort :-)

It's a quaint little town.
It's a quaint little town. All the restaurants are Italian or pizzerias. They were fair to good. The stores are interesting. It is a small village. We enjoyed exploring it, but there's not a huge amount there besides the souvenir shops, a few clothing stores, a few bars, a few coffee shops, and a few restaurants.

Casa de Campo is very calm and relaxing.
Casa de Campo is very calm and relaxing. Not a place for party-goers. Roads are clean, very secure and you can walk around. A paradise for golf players. Restaurants are fine, but everything is expensive. Prices are in dollars and at American rates, while product and service remains Dominican. Surely a money making machine for the owners.

Very nice environment, we were in an apartment,
which is located together in the hotel area.
It is possible to use all services for payment in hotels.
It is close to the swimming pools and three of them are filled with sea water.
The fourth is freshwater.
Nice umbrellas, a sufficient number of sunbeds on a sandy base.
Since the hotel is on a rock, there is no classic sandy beach and the entrance to the sea is via stairs. However, this does not detract from the attractiveness.
Parking outside the building is charged 24 hours a day.

Stayed their for only one night as we were picking up a cruise the next day. Everything was good and the service was exceptional. As two senior women travelling I was very happy that the resort provided a wonderful person to pick us up at the airport and then he took us to the cruise port the next morning. I would definately stay their again. Also we arrived late evening so most eating places were closed so the owner made us an amazing pizza. This was a wonderful jesture as we were both tired from a long travel day and just wanted to relax. This was much appreciated.
