As non German speaking guests with very little knowledge of the region we were unsure how our stay would go but we had a great time meeting interesting people and learning a little about the area and the wine Our room was large and comfortable, quiet and airy, and spotlessly clean. We had a well equipped separate kitchen area with a dining room table in it, as well as a light bathroom with a shower There is a supermarket and bakery close by so we could prepare a meal for the evenings without difficulty too. The breakfast was simple and fresh and we enjoyed joining other guests at a long refectory dining room table. It was a bonus to be offered eggs in addition to a plate of fresh fruit and a platter of meats and cheeses with breads, yoghurt and coffee by the lovely team of people. who looked after us for the meal. The garden and outside areas are comfortable and guests are invited to use them which is lovely and Axel and Ute, together with their son, Heinrich, made us feel relaxed straight away. They are also totally professional and obviously run a "good ship" both in the winery and in the accommodation.

We had an an absolutely amazing stay here. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff patiently answered my questions about the area, and were very polite. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate. Our room had complimentary hot drinks and an optional mini bar. The large fridge in the room was a nice touch! We had our evening meal on the terrace over looking the Rhien. The menu was small, but the food we had was delicious (soup, sourdough, tartlette). We did not have breakfast but there was a wide selection of breakfast options. Car parking was an optional 10 euros to park at the hotel, or, it was possible to park on a car park opposite with no charge. I would recommend this hotel!

This hotel exceeded our expectations, friendly staff, very modern good size room and shower room, spotlessly clean. Free parking in front of the hotel. There is a coffee making station along the hall, very useful after a long journey. The vegan evening meal was lovely (try one of the local wines) and so was the breakfast with lots of choices. The bed was big and comfortable and it was very quiet at night, we slept well. The hotel is surrounded by vineyards and we took a little walk up along to admire the views. Would like to stay there again!

Very nice place mixing a family-owned vibe and values with both traditional and modern facilities. The rooms are very comfortable and very modern. Everything is well maintained and looks and feels welcoming. Breakfast was amazing with many options. The family and other staff are truly very friendly. Really would recommend a wine tasting and buying a couple of bottles or boxes too!

For the traveler that wants to see the less wonderful parts...

For the traveler that wants to see the less wonderful parts of the country to get a better view of the totality of a culture, Worms is a must stop. While parts of the country show little evidence of the impact of middle-easterners on the culture, the opposite is true in Worms. You can draw your own conclusions on the root cause, but Worms definitely has a different feel to it than other communities. We traveled there due to the Luther history, that being the monument and the cathedral where the Diet of Worms was held in the 1500's.

Bingen is touristy.

Bingen is touristy. This is not a place for people who are looking for solitude. The ferry takes you straight to Rüdesheim and you can explore the vineyards from there. In the city you can find restaurants, butchers, bakeries and shops. The city is safe and friendly.

An ideal location for traveling around the Rhienhessen. the wine producing area of Germany.. Vineyards very attractive, we did feel that the water front could be made far more attractive and encourage more visitors. The next door village / town of Oppenheim. While not located on the waters side has far more old areas / properties and is very well worth a visit.

Its a small town with lots of old building charm and some old fashioned shops that felt like you were travelling back in time (in a good way). Perfect place for an overnight stopover (which we have done twice now) on our way south to Bavaria, although this wine region is pretty and worth a longer stay. Highly recommend the small family run Italian restaurant opposite the Edeka supermarket (Pizzeria Terranova), really good, honest Italian food and good value too.

Worms is a city of historical significance, severely battered by WW2. The cathedral is impressive, the role Worms played in European Medieval history left some traces, and the city prides itself in the references made to it in the Nibelungen-legend. There is a monument commemorating the trial against Marten Luther in 1520, and the nice river front has a Nibelungen sculpture. This is a good one-day or mid-day stop-over for tourist with a deep interest in German and European history. But bear in mind that the area is rich in cities that offer similar significance but somehow have withstood the teeth of time a bit better

Bingen is like Rudesheim but without the tourists, a great local place with excellent facilities and a beautiful river front. Friendly locals with good restaurants and a great wine shop selling choice of local wines which is why we always stay in this area.

The city suffered greatly from the bombing in 1941-45, so the ensembles of the old streets did not survived there. But all important buildings are in the excellent condition. The cathedral is magnificent!

The appartment is filthy too many things don't work and there were no facilities to be used. Television not working, Internet not working. Insufficient towels. No ketlle hardly any pot and pans. Beds however are comfortable. Our advise is stay away from this one.
