I recently stayed at Robinson Cape Verde, and it was truly one of the best vacation experiences I’ve ever had. The standout aspect was definitely the incredible staff—everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure guests had an amazing time. They went above and beyond, creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home from the start.
One of the things I loved was the variety of free activity classes available every day. Whether you’re into yoga, beach workouts, or water sports, there’s always something to try, and the instructors are fantastic. They keep it fun and engaging, so every day feels like an adventure if you want it to be!
And let me rave about the food—easily the best I’ve had on the island. Not only is there a huge selection, but everything is also incredibly healthy and tasty. The chefs put a lot of thought into crafting meals that are as nutritious as they are delicious, and you can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients. From local Cape Verdean dishes to international options, every meal was a delight.
All in all, Robinson Cape Verde combines the best of everything—an ideal location, excellent facilities, and staff that truly make the experience unforgettable. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to recharge in a beautiful, welcoming setting.

Very nice and helpful staff. Taxi from and to airport were well arranged. The room was large with a nice private terras. Rooms were cleaned daily and two large bottles of water were offered at arrival. There is a small shop nearby that I used to get a cheap local SIM card (2€ for 1GB of data - doesn't get any better than that :-)). The formula with all means included was very nice: the morning a buffer with all I could wish for and the other meals are 3 courses with choses of meat, pizza, fish, veggie, ... There was sufficient room around the pool area and there is a great view on the sunset! I highly recommend to rent a scooter in Santa-Maria for a couple of days, allowing to easily discover the best parts of the island. Also here, the reception gave me very good pointers.

excellent apartment for our family, great space and really comfortable beds -we all got great rest. The location was a on a quiet complex but great location and the beach was beautiful- we used the hotel shuttle bus service - there is only Bo Beach Bar there and a small restaurant so its lovely to have a long stretch of beach with no one else there! we tried santa maria beach but there are very limited ( 1 ) place to rent sunbeds so we just used our hotel beach which we preferred. we will come back when we can- loved it! advise to take washing up liquid/cloth/teatowel and washing liquid. whilst there is small supermarket on site the size of these products will last a lifetime! Had a great family holiday.

The appartments we rented were with ocean view, really spaceous and clean. Every night there are security people working and so we could leave our laundry outside to dry. Since the appartments are RIGHT by the beach you could come and go to the beach any time - day and night.
Activities like snorkeling, kite surfing, diving and so on you can book anywhere in walking range. There are countless seafood restaurants nearby, rooftop bars as well.
We highly recommend this place! The staff was really nice and helpful. We booked an extra late checkout without any problems.
Five stars from us and very well deserved!

The breakfast was really good and abundant, you have 3 options to choose from. Our suite was very nice and beautiful. Dory is very kind, available for all the questions and solves the problems immediately. Also the stuff at the restaurant is really friendly and always up for the party.

My flight was late and they offer us a room to have a shower for 30 min at the end of the day.

We were only there for three nights to get some sun and...
We were only there for three nights to get some sun and snorkelling. If we’d stayed longer I would have gone on a couple of trips but there isn’t lots to do there. I went to relax and enjoy the sun and sea, I could have stayed one more day but not enough there to keep you busy for a week.
Some nice restaurants along the strip and the people weren’t too pushy which I loved even the guys selling on the beach.

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal. Very close to the airport.
Especially nice experience for me was Pedra de Lume. There are nice and helpful people everywhere. I will certainly come back. Please note that this is not a beach or resort type of holiday like in Santa Maria.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

This is a small working port town with a traditional small scale fishing industry. It is gradually coming up into the modern world as a result of tourism. The harbour is used by yachts, tall ships and daytrip boats.
There is a town beach but it is not commercialised in any way and is not cleaned for leisure purposes.
The people are friendly and we did not feel threatened in any way.
Restaurants, hotels and some shops will accept Euros and there is an ATM in the town.
We liked Palmeira for a short visit before and after a sailing holiday.
A taxi to the airport costs 800 cve or 8 Euro.

Lovely place... Can be expensive in certain restaurants, but also affordable in othere. Very lovely beaches, bars, restaurants etc.
You meet alot of people from all over the world..
Good for solo travellers, you'll meet other solo travellers too.

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave, Shark Bay and Pedro da Lume, but I thought it would be cheaper to get to those places by taxi. Overall not much to do in the city itself, but I didnt want to miss the island’s capital. Not as touristy as Santa Maria, you can stroll the streets without being bothered, I felt safe, very friendly propeople as everywhere on Sal .

we stayed near the pier which was idyllic. Santa Maria is not commercialized no high rise hotels etc. it is very laid back and chilled. there are plenty of bars and restaurants though but this is not a party place if that's what you are wanting its for relaxing. the locals are so nice and just want to please you. Bear in mind if you stay in one of the big hotels they are not near the beach i would opt of an apartment as most of these are on the sea front
